How do single neurons contribute to brain computation?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Neuron is a basic structure of the nervous system, when the nervous system is broken down to the simplest the same is comprised of the neurons, the brain is comprised of the trillions of the neurons which are interconnected with each other. The basic function of the neuron is receiving the information from the sensory organ of the external world and also involve transferring the commands to the muscle cells in the form of electrical signals. All the neurons in the body are interconnected with each other to aid the transfer of the signal from one part of the body to other part through synapsis where the message is transferred in the form of the chemical signals and further the same is received by the dendrite of the next neuron helping in further communication of the information. This helps in accurate functioning of the human body.
