If the computers are connected and communicated in the small range then it is called Local Area Network and if the computers communicate with each other in the large area e.g. the area covers an entire city then it is called Metropolitan Area Network and if the computers communicate with each other in the area that covers the whole world then it is called Wide Area Network.
