Answer: Organisms are dependent upon each other whether it is eating, habitat, living, etc. Organisms affect each other directly or indirectly.

DIRECT EFFECT : when an organism is affected by the second organism directly without the interference of third organism.

INDIRECT EFFECT : when an organism is affected by the second organism indiretly with the interference of third organism.

THERE ARE SOME CATEGORIES DESCRIBES THEM :

1. MUTUALISM : it is a symbiotic relationship between two different species in which both the individuals are benefitted.

example: coelenterate and sea anemone.

2. COMMENSALISM : it is a symbiotic relationship between two different species in which one individual is benefitted and the other is neither benefitted nor harmed.

example: epiphytes growing in branches of tropical trees.

3. PREDATION : it is an act of killing, eating and capturing. it is an act where one living organism (prey) is consumed by the other living organism (predator). BUT the predator is not living on the prey. predator is benefitted and prey is harmed.

example: wolves hunting moose.

4. PARASITISM : it is a relationship between two organisms where one is benifitted (parasite) for growth, reproduction, and other organism (prey) is harmed. Parasites are living on the preys.

example: female mosquitoes.

5. AMENSALISM : it is opposite to commensalism. it is the interaction between two individuals in which one is harmed and the other has no effect.

example: penicillium secretes some chemicals that kills other bacterias in their vicinity.
