Question

In a certain math class, there is a total of 600 possible points from 4 tests. Beth made a 96, 110, and 100 on her first 3 math tests. Each test is worth 150 points To get at least a C, the total points must be at least must be at least 420. What has to be the score on the last test to get at least a C?
A. If x is her fourth exam score, write the equation for her numerical grade.

B. Set up and solve an inequality to solve this problem as shown in the videos.

Step 1

Given :

Marks of three subjects are 96,110 and 100 respectively.

Highest marks for each test are 150.

To get C grade marks of 4 subjects should be at least 420.

Step 2

What has to be the score on the last test to get at least C grade.

To get to know the score of fourth subject we must subtract the sum of scores of three subjects , Scores are 96, 110 and 100 and their sum is 306.  So, the minimum marks require to get C grade is 420-306 = 114.

Step 3

1). If X is her fourth exam score, write the equation for her numerical grade.

Answer:  The equation for numerical grade is given in whiteboard, The equation must consis...
