It is a fungal infection caused by a fungus known as Candida. It can flourish on skin as well as in deeper organs like liver,lungs etc.It is our normal flora of the body but its over growth causes disease in the form of Candidiasis.

Candidiasis can occurs in three forms:-

1)Oropharyngeal candidiasis-This form of candidiasis also known as Thrush.As its name already tells where this kind of infection dwells,it occurs in oral cavity(mouth) and throat region.

2)Yeast infection-This occurs in genital parts(Vagina) producing patches and irritation.

3)Invasive candidiasis-It occurs when when fungus invades the inner organs after entering into the blood stream.Vital organs can be affected by the candidiasis.
