My problem is that my teacher said my method should return a new array.  I don't know what she means. My method prints out the array with all even elements changed to zero.  Do I need to do something else?  Thank you for your help.

I am supposed to write a method that will replace all even elements of an array with 0.  I wrote the following method, which I think works:

import java.util.Arrays;

public static void main(String[] args)

int[] array = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10};

for (int i = 0; i < array.length; i++)
{
System.out.print(array[i] + " ");
}
System.out.println();
replace(array);
}
public static void replace(int[] array)
{
int [] temparray = Arrays.copyOf(array,10);
for (int i = 0; i < temparray.length; i++)
{
if (temparray[i]%2 == 0)
temparray[i] = 0;
}
for (int i = 0; i < temparray.length; i++)
System.out.print(temparray[i] + " ");
}
}
