Q1): Computing Taxes [x-Tas]
The personal income tax is calculated based on the status and the taxable income. There are three
statuses: Single (S), Married (M), and Head of Household (H). The tax rates for 2020 are shown
in the below table,
Design a flowchart that prompts the user to enter the status as a character: S, M or H,
and taxable income, then computes the tax value
Your flowchart should perform the following:
Declare an integer variable as global, named ChildrenNum
Declare a real variable as global, named TaxRate
ReadInfo(), a module that receives the status and the income as reference parameters.
This module is used to read the status and the income of the employee. In this module,
you need to decide and update about the TaxRate based on the status and the income
entered (based on the table shown below).
Also, you need to ask the employee about his/her number of children and to store the
value in ChildrenNum.
• ComputeTaxValue(), a module to return the computed tax based on the following
formula:
TaxValue = (TaxRate * Income) - (ChildrenNum*50)
• DisplayTaxValue(), a module to display the tax value on the screen
