The Great Leap referred to the Second Five Year Plan that was led by the Chinese Communist Party and lasted from 1958 to 1962. The campaign was launched by the Communist Party leader, Mao Zedong. On the other hand, the Cultural Revolution is also known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution and was a sociopolitical movement that took place in China from 1966 to 1976. The campaign aimed to preserve Chinese communism in the country by removing capitalism and traditional elements.
