- How can we perform seed germination test? Write down the seed sowing procedure of hydroponically grown tomato (Lycopersicon esculantum Mill.).leaves fall off when growers place plastic sleeves to cover the plant because of poor circulation and the lack of oxygen causes the plants not to breathe. Even though, the sleeves are a temporary fit for transport and shipping, what other items do you think the growers can use instead of the plastic sleeves to help?May I ask why are there 10 plants that will be used?
- We used seedlings of Lepidium sativum to see under which conditions it would germinate in an experiment. We'd use cotton wool and dampen it, and placing the seedlings at the bottom. Depending on which bottle it was, some were mixed with dampened cotton wool, and others didn't have cotton wool that were dampened. Then the opening of the bottle was covered, except for one which was covered with a lid. (See the picture). Now, I have to explain my results in my lab report. I can't find a solid source on what factors that cause the germination of seedlings. I've covered cellular respiration, and photosynthesis, but I don't know how to proceed from here. Bear also in mind that there's no soil in which the seed is germinating, so I will have to be able to explain this. Second of all, could you clue me in on how moisture is important for the germination of seedlings? Should I also bring up the physiology of seedlings and how they're growing?Which part of poppy plant is used to obtain the drug 'SMACK' ?Engineers have designed a smaller version of such a container that can be used to seal off a small part of the plant. One version of this device, called a leaf chamber, is shown below. When a scientist uses this device on a plant, they don’t need to break the leaves off the branch or stem they are attached to. The leaf chamber makes an airtight seal around the stem or branch even though it is sticking out of the chamber. Using this device, scientists detected the most change in O2 and CO2 levels inside the chamber when a leaf is in the chamber. They only detected a small change in O2 and CO2 levels in the chamber when a green stem was placed in the chamber. No change was detected when a root or a brown stem was placed in the chamber. Why do you think a scientist would prefer not to remove the leaves from a tree or a plant in order to take these sorts of measurements?
- Ginger undergoes three (3) stages of Growth. Name and describe the these stages from Germinating stage to time for harvestingHelp me solve the stomatal density of IXORA PLANTFor a 10x ocular, the diameter of field of view for the LPO (10x) is 1.78 mm while HPO (40x) is 0.45 mm.Based on the following data from your t-test results, did your treatment statistically enhance plant growth or seed germination? Group: Control Mean: 42.1543SD: 9.9290SEM: 3.7528N: 7 Group: Treatment Mean: 57.5900SD: 26.1465SEM: 9.8825N: 7
- James is preparing a plate of papaya (Carica papaya) for his sleepover friends. As he cuts open the papaya, they discover numbers of slime-covered seed inside, surrounded by soft flesh and soft skin. Before papaya fruits ripen and the seeds inside them mature, their flesh is bitter or sour. Only later does it become tasty.Discuss how this feature improves the odds for the plant's reproductive success and identify the possible agents to disperse the seeds. Remark: The word count limit is 250 words only, no less than 100 words.Growers often wrap potted plants in plastic sleeves prior to shipping. If plants remain in these sleeves too long, their leaves curl and fall off. Imagine you are working at a garden center and have been asked to make a presentation to a local garden club.Unit 5 DQ Question: Explain the processes that may cause the leaves to drop and fall. You have 60 seedlings (same variety) in individual pots; assume the environment is homogeneous. You decide to test 4 levels of copper and 3 levels of pH. Considering the classic experimental designs (arrangements), what might be an appropriate setup for your study?
