Question

i) Joey is a struggling “actor-slash-model”. He’s trying hard to get roles in films, plays and advertisements. Unfortunately, his chance to qualify auditions for ‘insignificant’ roles is pretty high. The probability for him to pass an audition is 0.9. Recently he’s got two auditions. One is a film and the role he is auditioning for is ‘Al-Pacino’s back’! The other is an advertisement for NYC free clinic where he has to play ‘Mario’ who has a venereal disease!

a. What is the probability that he qualifies for both of the roles? [You must give the answer in decimal form (upto 2 decimal places) or in percentage form
b. What is the probability that he gets to play at least one of the roles? [You must give the answer in decimal form (upto 2 decimal places) or in percentage form (upto 2 decimal places)]

ii) Joey has a huge fan base now and it’s increasing everyday after he portrayed a famous neurosurgeon, ‘Dr. Drake Ramoray’ in a soap opera called Days of our lives. On every weekend, he sees one of his ANONYMOUS fans and it’s quite possible for him to see someone more than once because of his forgetful nature. 70% of his fans are girls.

a. What is the probability that it’d take him at most 3 weekends to see the first fangirl (a fan who’s a girl)? [You must give the answer in decimal form (upto 2 decimal places) or in percentage form (upto 2 decimal places)]
b. What is the probability that he’ll never get to see any of his fangirl? (Lets say, he can see his fans on weekends even after death!!) [You must give the answer in decimal form (upto 2 decimal places) or in percentage form (upto 2 decimal places)]

iii) One day, Erika, a big fan with a bigger psychiatric disorder, knocks on Joey’s door. She really takes Joey for “Dr. Drake Ramoray”, the neurosurgeon he plays on TV. Being fascinated by Drake on the show, she wants Joey to marry her! As an attempt of engagement, she tries to put 5 different rings on 5 fingers of his left hand!

a. How many different ways can she put those rings on his fingers so that each finger has one ring on it?[The answer is a positive integer. Give it in a positive integer form]  unanswered
