Expert Solution
Introduction
The field of biochemistry and cell biology that helps identify the flow of energy in living organisms is called bioenergetics. In 1841, J.R. Mayer was the one who introduced the concept of bioenergetics. Some of the bioenergetics processes are photosynthesis, cellular respiration.
Explanation
The two laws of bioenergetics are:
- It is impossible to create or destroy the energy, but it can be converted from one form to another. Energy is that component that someone cannot create, but it is possible to interchange different forms of energy. For example, light energy will change into chemical energy and further into electrical energy when we see some object. Also, in the contraction of muscles, chemical energy will change into mechanical energy.
- The transfer of energy will always occur in the increased entropy direction, and free energy will release out. For example, - When a person performs any activity, then the substrate will change into a product, which will release some form of energy in the direction of entropy. Then the cells of the body start working.
