What is blackbody radiation?
Blackbody:
A body which absorbs the radiations of all the wavelengths incident on it. It is called perfect black body.
For a blackbody emissivity is equal to 1.
The thermal electromagnetic radiation within or surrounding a body emitted by the blackbody is known as blackbody radiation.
The blackbody radiation is a specific spectrum of wavelengths.
Which depends inversely to the intensity
The blackbody radiation has a continuous frequency spectrum , which only depends on the temperature of the surface.
Planck law :
According to it, at thermal equilibrium the electromagnetic radiation at temperature T,
The specific radiance of the body B is given as,
Here B is spectral emissive power per unit area at particular frequency or wavelengths.
The unit of B in terms of frequency is W.Sr-1m-2.Hz-1 and the unit of B in terms of wavelength is W.Sr-1m-3.
