The regions is defined by its activities, by the natural and cultural environment and on the basis of that, there are named, like, the region where the majority of people are involved in primary activities is termed as village or rural areas.
The region which is characterized by industries and cities are called urban areas and by varying characteristics of the urban areas itself that are named differently. Megalopolis is the term of the urban areas, which is used to define the area that had a concentration of umber of major cities in continuation, and the growth is still not stagnant, that area is characterized by huge commercial and industrial activities.
