There are basically two kinds of election systems namely, Direct elections and Indirect elections. In Indirect elections, people choose their representatives to rule the government. This kind of election takes place in basically two forms of democratic government systems - Presidential and parliamentary systems. In direct elections, the public directly exercises their powers in the matter of public importance.
