Question

What is the role of mitochondria in cell?

Expert Solution
Step 1- Introduction

A Cell is the functional unit and also the smallest unit of all living organisms. Robert Hooke first observed the cell in a dead cork slice in his book "Micrographia"

The cell is of two types:-

1) Prokaryotic cell

2) Eukaryotic cell

Out of the two, the Prokaryotic cell is primitive with no well-developed nucleus and cell organelles are also not developed and not enclosed by any membrane.

The eukaryotic cell has a well-developed nucleus and well-developed organelles enclosed with membrane too.
