Ottoman Empire once was a very powerful and stable empire in Europe and was able to manage many regions of northern Africa and the western part of Asia. Being a Turkish empire it ruled for almost  6 centuries starting from its establishment in the 14th century until its decline in the 20th century. The empire wholly came to the end after its seizure by the Allied powers in WWI. In 1922, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk the then-sultan of the empire was deceased and the empire was proclaimed the Republic of Turkey.
