The moisture content (w) is 16.6%.

The moist unit weight of soil (γ) is 20.6kN/m3.

Calculation:

Consider the unit weight of water (γw) is 9.81kN/m3.

Calculate the dry unit weight of the soil (γd) using the relation.

γd=γ1+w

Substitute 20.6kN/m3 for γ and 16.6% for w.

γd=20.61+16.6100=20.61.166=17.67kN/m3

Calculate the void ratio (e) using the relation.

e=Gsγwγd1

Substitute 2.74 for Gs, 17.67kN/m3 for γd, and 9.81kN/m3 for γw.
