music they played as the concert had Folk songs, pieces by M. Carcassi, pieces by C. Parkening, and more. What I was impressed by is a girl who I believe is around 12 years old play Siciliana by Matteo Carcassi with such smoothness and grace. attended a performance like this without my parents dragging me against my will. The only other time I have ever attended a concert of this nature is when my parents force my sister and I to go to the local opera house every year on Memorial Day to honor our troops and watch a couple boy scouts earn the title of eagle scout. Honestly, because I have only been to these types of concerts against my will, I did not know what to expect. I was extremely stressed out about what was appropriate to wear and how

The two concerts I have chosen are different in many ways, but the music itself has a lot in common. For the first concert I chose the progressive rock group Dream Theater. I chose the piece “Instrumedley” from their Live at Budokan video released in 2004. This video depicts the band setup on stage in the typical rock concert format. The lighting is bright and multicolored. Unlike most rock concerts, the musicians do not animate themselves to excite the crowd. They rely on the mastery of their instruments

The Peter Sommer Septet was the first concert I have ever attended in my whole life and I did actually enjoy the concert. I liked the concert because all the music had a nice flow and the entire performance was good because the performers engaged the audience by sharing what kind of music they liked to play. The genre of the all the songs that were played consisted of jazz music. The first song of the performance was “Boogie Stop Shuffle” written by Charles Mingus. As the music started to play,

On May 29th at 6:30 PM I was able to attend and perform at the 2018 CYPA Showcase that took place in the Central York Auditorium. It was a very nice experience to sing in front of a musical audience. There were many performances that really stood out to me. One performance that really stood out was a song called “Two Peas in a Pod” from Grey Gardens. This song was performed by Grace Montgomery and Molly Reinhard. Besides the outstanding vocals, their stage presence and choreography was on point.

The program consisted of three unique musical pieces performed by the renowned Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Before the concert began, I was able to observe the audience members outside of the entrance doors. Unlike the other Kennesaw State concerts that I attended, there was an extremely large and diverse crowd dressed formally. The doors opened fifteen minutes before the concert began and an usher escorted me to the second row in front of the stage. As the performance began, felt a formal and prestigious

This is perfectly normal and is not specific to classical music. I’m sure you can imagine how out of place one might feel attending a Phish concert if one wasn’t accustomed to the culture that goes along with that music. The same can be said for all genres of music. The main thing to remember when attending these concerts is that the focus is on

their favorite song, live. Concerts are truly amazing; whether you go by yourself, in the mosh pit, or just hanging on the outermost parts. I've been to 4 concerts since freshman year. My first concert was Bring Me the Horizon. That was the first time I really felt that rush in my body, everyone jumping around, singing their hearts out. This is when I realized concerts are where you let loose, people are rarely pay attention to each other but more so on the
