An egg is a fragile object that breaks when a small amount of force acts upon it, but many people have tried to prevent it from breaking when it falls by building contraptions for it. The egg drop experiment is generally used as an experiment to teach students about the concepts of physics. There are many ways to prevent an egg from breaking when it falls. One example is to use a parachute to slow down the descent of the egg. Another example is to wrap the egg in bubble wrap to cushion the egg’s
A Bethlehem Experience Joseph and Mary did not know they were going to be in the Bible. Shirley and I did not expect to walk in their shoes as we anticipated the birth of our first child. During my first year in theological training, we were able to find lodging with a senior gentleman who lived within walking distance of the College. We had an upstairs bedroom of our own and a respectful use of the house with due care given to our landlord’s needs. While I worked on my Master of Divinity (M.Div
Las Posadas is Spanish for “The Inns”, and it is a religious festival celebrated across Mexico and some parts of the United States. It is held between December 16 and 24, and lasts for nine evenings. The Posada begins with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, a beautiful prayer to the Mother of Jesus, Mary. It finally ends with the Posada and Midnight Mass on December 24th. It commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a location where Mary could
WWJD IN WORSHIP? Luke 4:14-21 Sunday, January 24, 2015 Do you remember slap bracelets? They were those bracelets that would roll out into a ruler-like thing, but when you slapped it against your wrist, the band would curl around and be like a bracelet. Very, very cool, but also very, very, dangerous. You see, inside was a thin piece of metal, and at the peak of their popularity, there were all kinds of injuries that occurred because the metal of the bracelet broke through the fabric and cut children’s

XTC’s composer Andy Partridge considered Easter Theatre as one of the most perfect songs of his career. Featured as the Lead Single in Apple Venus Volume 1, Andy intentionally designed the lyrics uniquely, purportedly to exorcise the ever-present influences of the Beatles and the Beach Boys’ Brain Wilson. It is commonplace in rock music that every band has to espouse some Beatles-que lyrics and of course borrow to some extent from the genius of Brian Wilson, who is regarded as the greatest composer
My Symbol of Success Growing up, my grandmother always said "failure is a bruise not a tattoo". Joy was born on June 4, 1950 and worked hard every day. My Grandmother is a symbol of everything I could ever dream of being. She represents strength, perseverance, and kindness. My grandmother had to exhibit strength her entire life. When she was a little girl her family was very poor. She had to walk almost two miles to school and back every day. Her family could only afford to buy her one school
aspect of your development into an independent adult. I’ve grown up in a white suburban neighborhood, and my hometown is in Champlin, Minnesota. My life is heavily influenced by my family and family traditions such as celebrating Christmas and having Easter egg hunts. Childhood is the most crucial part of everyone’s life. It’s also the most critical time for learning and because of this, while you’re growing up, you tend to absorb a tremendous amount of information. Parents are a major force in a child’s
For the Easter vigil I attended at the Ross Hall Chapel at 7:30 pm at the University of St. Mary on Saturday, April 15th. Although this was my third time going to this chapel I still felt a little lost how the Chapel did their services. From how the service was structured, to certain prayers I felt overwhelmed with the many sacraments that were done that night. This time I prepared myself to leave on time and reached the church ten minutes early. As I was heading to the chapel area I saw many of
