1. What position are you applying for, President, Vice President, or Secretary/Treasurer? The position I am applying for is ASB Secretary/Treasurer.
2. Why do you want to be a class officer? Be honest. Being a class officer allows me to help others as well as to improve myself. Most of all, I believe I’ll find a lot of fun through it. I love managing things, from money to plans, my parents can say that those are the things that I would jump to my feet to take into task. Hence, being an ASB Secretary/Treasurer, I can bring my skills and interests to Chino Hills High School, and not only enjoy but commit to make the following school year great.
3. What other groups/organizations do you plan on being involved in at CHHS? For the upcoming year I plan to get involved in ASB/leadership and the Key club. I was a member of National Junior Honors Society in Townsend Jr. High School, an organization that promotes the idea of making a difference in the community. Therefore, I would like to continue what I am doing now and get more involved in the community by joining those organizations, I want to do the little acts of kindness that I can do to help the world.

Ever since I can remember, I have had the intense desire to help people. In high school, I joined Kiwanis Key Club and National Honors Society; both organizations allowed me to gain hours of volunteer experience helping families in need within my own community. Both organizations have annual events to benefit our community. At Christmas, Key Club adopts a few families and we buy clothing and toys for the kids. Our efforts to make the holidays a more enjoyable time for the families removed the parents’ burden of having to worry about being able to pay bills after getting presents for their children. Also, National Honors Society holds a blood drive every year in coalition with the American Red Cross. Last year our blood drive was in honor of a little girl in our community with leukemia.
I have been a part of almost every club available to me at Northeast Jones High School and in my community during my time in high school years. Some of the clubs that I am involved in are Beta Club, Serteens (president 2015-2016), Student Council (treasurer 2015-2016), Future Business Leaders of America, Teens Getting Involved for the Future, Key Club, Junior Auxiliary’s Crown Club, Yearbook, and Future Leaders of Jones County. My involvement in all of these clubs have helped me realize how important it is to be involved with my community in order for me to give back. I feel that it is necessary to be extremely involved before being selected for the Luckyday Scholarship, and it would be such a great reward for always giving to those in need to be selected for the Luckyday Scholarship. Because I have been involved with so many clubs and extracurricular activities that serve our community, I will not have a problem juggling academics with any clubs I might join at the University of Southern
During my high school career, I have participated in a large majority of the clubs available to me, and held officer positions in most of them as well. In both the National Honor Society and Medical Connections Clubs I am a member of two and four years respectively, and was elected treasurer of both for the 2017-2018 school year. National Honor Society has also given me many community service opportunities, including helping with the Night to Shine organization and a volunteering at a local nursing home.
I believe myself to be a musician of sorts. I play flute, piccolo, and saxophone in band. I’ve been in band for about seven years. I love hearing a piece of music come together while everyone works together. My favorite piece I have ever played is called As Summer Was Just Beginning: A song for James Dean. This is my favorite piece because it is truly beautiful and makes me smile everytime I listen to it. I was chosen to play part of the flute duet in the song and that make it even more perfect. Aside from music, I consider myself to be a good daughter. My parents are usually always proud of what I am doing in my life whether it be band, cheer, work, or school I always try to be my best because in my personality if I am not doing well at whatever
I would like to become an active member of Carrboro High School National Honor Society, because I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve and improve the community with other like-minded students. I believe it is important to balance academics, athletics, and community service. For example, this year I am taking 5 AP classes, running cross-country and track, and have spent almost 150 hours volunteering in the community. The first time I volunteered was when I raised a diabetic alert dog with my family. Even though I was sad to see the dog I had raised go, it was a rewarding experience because I knew that the dog would help someone have a better life. Anytime I can find an opportunity to both improve myself and the community, I won’t hesitate to seize it. I found the opportunity to do just that at both Shodor and CHCCS Project Graduation.
Over the past two years (2014-2016) I have participated in the National Junior Honors Society. As a member, I commit to completing community service and to learning among my peers in order to develop into a superior leader. I have taken part in activities such as fundraisers, team building activities, and several forms of community services such as working in a soup kitchen, daycares and organizing social events. Recently, I volunteered for a week as a vendor at a temple in Tacoma, raising money for the establishment during the Cambodian New Year festival.
It was not long that I began to receive personally wrote thank you letters from people and organizations we have served. One such organization was our local first Baptist church. This simple letter I found greatly changed how I saw Key Club. Before it seemed like a small group of friends that often went under appreciated despite our efforts. However now i understand that our plethora of projects really do greatly impact my community. Soon I began to love serving society, and began to search for even more projects to
Though I haven’t had the most involvement in extracurricular activities, I have been trying to turn that around. I joined FCCLA at the start of freshman year. FCCLA was an excellent experience to improve my leadership skills, as well as getting engaged with the school and community. This ranged from helping out with school activities, to collecting and organizing books to be donated to children, and crafting dog beds to donate to the Cedar Valley Humane Society. I ended up not resigning up for FCCLA the following year due to my dealing with a difficult death in my family. However, since then I have gotten stronger and want to expand my community involvement. For that reason, I joined Student Council after the end of my junior year. As a representative, I help in school activities and decision-making. Though I’m a newer member, I’m excited to be a part of the Student Council. I have also recently joined the Science National Honor Society. I was able to join this club because of my accomplishments in science. I doubled up biology and chemistry my sophomore year, challenged myself by taking AP Chemistry my junior year, and am currently enrolled in the Pharmacology Technician program at Kirkwood as a senior. I am eager to see guest speakers and have already signed up for a couple of community service activities in this
I am a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Key Club, Executive Council, Fine Arts Club and Drama Club. As a member of these clubs, I participate in volunteer work and school events. The clubs push me to be a better person and student inside and outside of school. Furthermore, I am a part-time cashier at a grocery store. When I have time off, I enjoy being with my friends, traveling, or baking. One of my life goals includes traveling to different countries and every
Contributing to my school and community is a true passion. I am involved in programs like the Red Cross, Angel Tree created by The Salvation Army, and Olive Garden’s Pasta For Pennies. My school hosted a Red Cross blood drive, and I was responsible for promoting the event to individuals within our school. We had a total of two hundred students donate blood. We helped save a total of six hundred lives! I also assisted the Program Angel Tree by promoting the program among the student organizations within my school. Our involvement has helped hundreds of less fortunate children and seniors receive necessities and gifts! As a team, the student council also collects spare change from students in our school. Our collaboration with Olive Garden has helped fund the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's School & Youth campaign. I am truly glad that my contributions have made an impact within my community and society! My strong involvement in extracurricular activities has helped me become knowledgeable, principled, and a risk-taker. I carry a strong sense of respect and righteousness, and I approach unfamiliar opportunities with a vision and great courage. I seek to set an example for members within my school, community, state, and
I am in Quiz Bowl which has allowed me to learn new information and connect with other kids from different schools. Pep Club is another great opportunity. We decorate for the homecoming dance and plan activities and dress-up days. We collect pennies, nickels, and quarters and donated the money raised to the local food pantry to help with their expenses. This year I am currently serving as a student council member. We help set up Winter Carnival games, pick out dress-up days for homecoming, and help seat people at graduation. Last spring, I was inducted into our school’s NHS chapter. Being in NHS allows me the opportunity to assist our local Lions Club with community service projects. These community service projects allow me to be involved and give back to the community. I have been recently voted to be a student representative of the school board. I am excited to learn how the board makes decisions for our staff and students. I also get to participate in discussion and share my opinion on current issues we are dealing with. A new activity that I just started in September is Battle of the
Like other service clubs, Key Club offers a variety of activities that gives us members plenty to choose from. These are opportunities that many students would participate in but are disoriented as to where to look; Key club facilitates this search. Volunteer activities such as Blood Drive, Humane Society and school clean ups have made me realize that there are endless possibilities to help out my community. Blood drive will help save individuals on the verge of life and death. Humane Society will provide care for animals that have reached a point of learned helplessness. School clean ups has kept our facility a symbol of pride. Knowing I saved a life, helped the helpless, and made my school a better place brings me pride beyond that of any materialistic thing. Standing up with fellow Key Club members not
I have been involved in many activities through my years at FCHS. All of those activities have taught me life skills and furthered me as a person. Three that have impacted me the most are FFA, Track and Field, and Band.
I’m involved in Pet Club, National Honors Society, Medical Club, Interact Club, 4H, I swim and last year, I was on the golf team. One thing I love the most in this world, is 4H. I was president of my club for two years, vice president before that and secretary and historian; so I’ve held office five out of the six years since I been in my club.
With so many ways to describe who I am, I think I will start off with the basics. I am a college student that attends Drake University. I would identify myself as hard-working, responsible, and persistent. At the beginning of the term, I identified myself as how I felt in the moment with answers such as tired, hungry, and bored. Yes, those were traits I identified myself within the moment, but now I try to look far and beyond the present. I want to identify myself as someone who strives to achieve everything she ever wanted, including graduating from college, with honors and getting involved within the college community. I want to be able to identify with things that have meaning and substance that I have always strived for including being determined and self-reliant.
