I would like to become an active member of Carrboro High School National Honor Society, because I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve and improve the community with other like-minded students. I believe it is important to balance academics, athletics, and community service. For example, this year I am taking 5 AP classes, running cross-country and track, and have spent almost 150 hours volunteering in the community. The first time I volunteered was when I raised a diabetic alert dog with my family. Even though I was sad to see the dog I had raised go, it was a rewarding experience because I knew that the dog would help someone have a better life. Anytime I can find an opportunity to both improve myself and the community, I won’t hesitate to seize it. I found the opportunity to do just that at both Shodor and CHCCS Project Graduation. …show more content…
My latest project was rewriting educational models that were originally in Java to JavaScript, so that they are accessible to more people. Creating interactive programs was more challenging than I expected, and really tested my JavaScript skills. However, I am glad that I took on this project because I learned new things about JavaScript and the models I was working with, and I know that I used my knowledge to help give other students new knowledge. Assisting with the workshops that Shodor hosted during summers allowed me to directly interact with students. Since one teacher cannot possibly help all of the students with their projects at the same time, I rotated around the classroom to help students. Each week, I would get to know students who I wouldn’t have met otherwise, and share my love of programming with
National Honor Society describes the person I aspire to be. A person with character, leadership skills, and an honest person. I would love to be a part of a club that brings out the best within me. I do believe I have some of the qualities that are appropriate and needed to be in this club. I've always tried to help the people in my community and also around me whenever help is needed. I think that I would be able to help out others, just like the people who are in National Honor Society. I would like to be a member of the Lenoir City High School National Honor Society because I like what the club means and its purpose. Doing different projects and being able to help people would be really amazing. I would like to do things for others without
I’m so honored, to be eligible for National Honor Society. Ever since my dad told about N.H.S. back in 8th grade, that became my goal. My dad told me that to be in it you need to be an excellent student but, also help others. In my middle school years, I participated in Boy Scouts. But, due to sports and having a job, I had leave. But, a big requirement for them was to be apart in the community. Making you have to volunteer, participate in the different things, helping others,Boy Scouts made it fun. I’ve been lucky to have been apart of it leaving me with much knowledge that I can use everyday.
Everyday, countless amounts of people are working hard, trying to change the world for the better. They are researching cures for cancer or taking twelve hour shifts to help keep oceans clean. There are people who are working towards a better world, and making life safe for the children in need, the animals in danger, and the men fighting for our country. Seeing these changes happen has motivated me to want to be a part of these developments. I wish to serve those around me, and believe that if I can have a positive impact on my community, it can affect the rest of the world. Therefore, I have made it my goal to be a part of the National Honor Society, in hopes that I can help my school, Middleville, and all who have impacted me. I believe that I represent the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and hope to use these qualities so that others may benefit.
I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.
The National Honors Society believes in leadership, character, scholarship, and service. I believe that I can bring that to Manchester High School. The National Honors Society gives the opportunity students to participate in the community. Without the NHS, the community wouldn’t be able to run the way it does. The NHS not only helps the community, but it also helps the students with their academics. It encourages students to keep their grades up and stay up to date with school events. My sister was a part of the National Honors Society and has encouraged me to join as many clubs as I can. My history of community service includes mission trips, food drives, and other activities for Swift Creek Presbyterian Church. The two mission trips I’ve
The National Honor Society is for high school seniors who have “demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character”. At John Marshall we really push the “service” area. There are so many different reason I wanted to be a part of NHS; It gives me satisfaction that I was able to become a member of such an elite society, it also is very rewarding to give back to a community that has done so much for me. Each service project I have volunteered at has taught me something different. Since July, I have volunteered at eleven different projects (over 32 hours), and I have learned something new every time. When I volunteered at the Marshall County Family Resource Network’s gift packaging for teenagers at Cameron High and Middle, Moundsville Middle, Sherrard Middle and John Marshall High Schools, I didn’t realize there were so many of my peers in need of simple hygiene products. It inspired me to help and give back to them by donating to Paws for a Cause at John
National Junior Honor Society will be a great opportunity for me. If I am accepted into NJHS I plan on keeping up my 4.0 average, balancing between school and outside of school activities, continuing to help my community/peers, and creating a specific idea to make a positive impact at the school. The next 3 paragraphs I will be stating why I will be a great member of NJHS, why it's good to help people, and something I could do to positively impact my school.
I deserve to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I’ve earned it. Over my high school career, I have been through many challenges, but I learned to face them head on with a positive attitude knowing how good the outcome can be. I fit the qualifications to be a member and if I do not fulfill them to a certain level, I will work on how to reach them. Throughout my school education, I’ve always tried my best, even more so in high school. I hold myself up to a very high expectation, I know I can always do better than before. As for volunteering, I am always involved in my community as much as I can. As a child, I was involved in many programs and I continue to do service work with more benefits to my future and character
Volunteering, in minor or significant ways, taught me that I could make an impact in the world and along the way build my character, experience the world, and develop better communication skills. I learned this at my local library, Fumo Family Branch. I aspire to become a part of the National Honors Society because I want to network with my peers and people outside of the Academy at Palumbo, improve my character and leadership skills, and give back to my community. I strongly believe that I am a great candidate because I possess the four pillars of the National Honors Society: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
I’m truly honored to have to have been chosen as a possible inductee, for the National Junior Honor Society, I would love to become a member of the NJHS to develop and expand my leadership skills, in addition I would like to improve my citizenship strength, this opportunity will also allow me to surround myself with other genuine students, my education is very important to me and being with other serious students will help me learn from their capabilities. Moreover, I would like to contribute to NJHS by volunteering and making my community proud. Furthermore, the main cause of why I want to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society, is because my biggest goal is
Over the past two years (2014-2016) I have participated in the National Junior Honors Society. As a member, I commit to completing community service and to learning among my peers in order to develop into a superior leader. I have taken part in activities such as fundraisers, team building activities, and several forms of community services such as working in a soup kitchen, daycares and organizing social events. Recently, I volunteered for a week as a vendor at a temple in Tacoma, raising money for the establishment during the Cambodian New Year festival.
Discussion: Mr. Payne said the technology millage allows us to leverage purchases such as these by having the infrastructure in place to support additional mobile devices. On any given day, we average 6,000-8,000 devices on our network; so without the proper infrastructure, we might have to turn down additional purchases that are funded via other sources. Mrs. Everly thanked Mr. Payne and his team in technology. There is an outstanding partnership between the curriculum and the technology departments.
As I mentioned before during my high school Junior and Senior years I was a member of the National Honors Society, in order to be invited certain requirements had to be meet by a student. Requirements such as a certain GPA, 3 teacher recommendation, essays and community involvement etc. luckily I meant those requirements and I was inducted into the Society. During my time with the Society I had the opportunity to be involved with many activities around the school and outside as well. One of our first activities at the Greensboro Interactive Resource Center where we helped out by painting benches, organize donated clothes and heling out with the outside garden. We also sold Krispy Kreme Doughnuts around the school for a fund raiser, volunteered
The National Honor Society is a group of kids that excel; they work with the community to improve the community and their abilities simultaneously. I believe that I would be a fantastic addition to Lynden’s Nation Honor Society Chapter because I exemplify the four points of the National Honor Society scholarship, service, leadership, and character. One of my strongest points is scholarship. The reason that I show scholarship is because I am willing to work very hard at everything that I do. When I was a kid, I did terrible in school, my grades were bad and I was heavily tutored during and after classes.
These clubs and groups are always helping kids grow, learn, and develop into hard working individuals, the made me who I am today. I can help the Shenandoah FFA alumni by helping organize events and fundraisers, as for 4-H I would like to be an advisor for a club and a member of the Senior Fairboard. The National Honor Society can help me reach these goals by providing my with academic opportunities as well as community service activities. It is also an honor and a privilege and others who wish to be a member of the National Honor Society can look to me for help or advice if my candidacy is accepted. I am looking forward to not only my future plans but my possible future as a member of the National Honor
