At Forster Community College, I lead a project to identify suitable 16-24 year olds through different channels of referrals and support them to get closer to employment. Many of these young people have a wide range of barriers including dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, Irlen syndrome and borderline personality disorder. I have interviewed these young people and conducted initial assessments to establish the barriers faced by each individual and tailored progression programmes around the their short term and long term aspirations. On 04/13/2017 at 2:00 pm CL and CM reached out to UC’s mother Dilcia to discuss about minor’s journey and minor’s living arrangements in COO. As per Ms. Dilcia, minor was a normal child who started school at the age of 7y/o. Ms. Dilcia reported that minor ever had a problem with anyone at school either at her community. They were a family that supports each other. Approximately, 8 months ago Kenia was introduced to Luis who is a MS 13 member, through one of her friends at school. As per Ms. Dilcia, UC got a cell phone from her friend and hide in her underwear for the past 8 months and no one in the home noticed. Minor resided with her mother and father. Ms. Dilcia reported that UC met with minor in a soccer field in their community overnight.

The lifestyle that typical teens grow up in is nothing like Ben’s, however, we still go through emotional mental and physical struggles. There’s are new challenges in college majors, relationships that make things harder to work out today then they were before.
Monica Guzman (Hunterdon Group Home- Assistant Executive Director) left CM a voice message on Friday, 3/3/17 at 4:51pm to inform CM that Jason (youth) is missing from Hunterdon Youth Services Group Home. Ms. Guzman included that youth jumped out the window with his belongings and went into a car with an unidentified youth. Caregiver and the police were notified. CM contacted Hunterdon Group Home on Monday, 3/6/17 and spoke to Jody (Office Manager at Group Home) regarding a follow-up on youth; CM was informed that youth is still missing and the group home suspect that youth’s brother picked him up on Friday, 3/3/17.
I have adopted the National Disability Insurance Agency in my research and thesis. I believe in the success of this organisation and will not disappoint its leadership team in achieving its targets. I am also tutoring Social Studies to year eleven and twelve high school students that contribute to their final ATAR results. The objective of these studies is it explore challenges and environment surrounding teenage students to develop their social lives and better engage in the community. The curriculum explores subjects like substance abuse, sexual and mental health, career building, social engagement and relationships with families and friends. My goal from tutoring these topics is to help students achieve better future with strong social knowledge and excellent engagement with the community. Tutoring these topics for high school students demonstrate my thorough understanding of how social withdrawal from the community can be quite daunting and demoralising for people with disability especially those of younger age who attempt to build a bright future.
