Eighth Grade. The year I wanted to try something new. I was getting tired of my boring middle school day, and I didn’t feel like I was being challenged enough. I looked for online schools that could work, and found Boulder Universal. Through more research, I learned that I could do a hybrid schedule. This meant that I would do some classes online, and some classes at my middle school, Broomfield Heights. To my surprise, after some consideration, my parents said yes! This is my experience.
The call of May16 began from a high school website known as “idunno.org,” a page that primarily updates the school board and calendar of Dunno High School, where students were informed that there will be no late start on Wednesday, May 16. Every Wednesday, there is a late start which pushes the schools starting bell from 7:50 a.m. to 8:58 a.m., allowing students to sleep well and have more time for themselves in the morning. After hearing the news, the students of Dunno High School created the facebook page “Students of Wednesday” to protest against the school’s dismissal for late start.
Eighth grade and ninth grade are nothing alike. They are not alike because in eighth grade the eighth graders are the oldest students there. It is also different because since they are the oldest they get the most respect. In ninth grade the ninth graders are the youngest and get the least respect. In ninth grade or freshman year the students are new to the school and you don't really know anyone but your friends. To get through your first year as a freshman you must make a lot of friends and have good relationships with all your friends. Something that can help make you many friends is joining clubs or teams.Another way to get through freshman year is by helping other students on homework and classwork. If you are done with classwork
Before the 6th grade, I really enjoyed math and I believed I was even good at it. Then to add to my excitement about math, I made a perfect score on my 6th grade Taks test. However, the next year (my 7th grade year) my teacher was a new teacher and you could tell she was struggling. She was a very nice teacher, and I loved her so much, I just struggled to understand what she was teaching. The next year, I transferred to a new school. Here, the teachers were not certified but they tried to help with everything they possibly could; however, their ability to help us was pretty limited. At my new school, we did all of our work on computers for half of the day and attended college classes at Panola and TSTC the rest of day. While I truly loved this
I believe that the opportunity of going to 6th grade camp, offered by the Mayville Middle School, has helped prepare me for the future. One reason why I think 6th grade camp has prepared me for the future is because it got me out of my comfort zone. Going to 6th grade camp, I did many things I probably wouldn’t be ordinarily comfortable with. This helps me prepare for the future because it made me be able to go out and try things that I would regularly do. Another reason why it has helped prepare me for the future is it made me see things that wouldn’t could be a new interest. For example, some kids may have never been able to ride a horse until 6th grade camp. They might really enjoy it and find an interest in it. The final reason is, that
There is an issue here in the U.S to most people. You may or may not be having this issue and you may or may not agree with this issue. But, there is a problem with school times. It is a very obvious fact that some students decide to drop out. But many people think it’s because they’re not doing their work, although that is the partial reason they don’t know when this starts. A time in my life when something bad turned out to be good was the middle of eighth grade when i wasn’t do well in my classes. This situation was bad because my grades weren’t good, and I wasnt doing the homework. One day in class , the teacher gave me a note from the office that said the principal wanted to talk to me. When I got to his office he was telling me that my grades were really low and I had to attend the after school program for forty days if I wanted to walk the stage for eighth grade promotion. From that day on I realized how important it was to be doing my homework if I wanted to succeed in school. After like a month my grades started to improve to B’s and it made me so proud of myself. It made me proud because, I was able to

Fifth grade was intimidating, it was where all four elementary schools combined. Fifth grade was also when you could start band. I had taken piano lessons in the third grade and had loved learning to play an instrument so I was extremely excited to join band. I was particularly looking forward to being able to play another instrument. I had no idea what to play, my mother had hoped I would choose the drums instead I had defied her wishes and picked the clarinet. I had two reasons for picking the clarinet, the first reason being I thought it looked really cool and decided I wanted to learn to play it. The second reason was based on the suggestion of Stephenie, our original plan had been to play the cello together but at the last moment she decided to play the flute. It was after this shift in instruments she suggested I play clarinet so we could play across from each other. Without any sort of idea as to what
Three small words that can describe my school story are sports and good grades. I’ve always been the one who gets their work in on time, gets good grades, one of the best at sports, and one that doesn’t get in trouble much. K4 to first grade is really a blur to me, all I can remember is starting to play baseball, making friends, and consistently either getting the highest or second highest grade you can get on a report card. Second Grade is when I really started to realize my love for sports. I always was a fan of the Packers, Bucks, and Brewers but didn’t really know anything else about sports. In second grade though, my bestfriend got me more into sports and I got into knowing tons of players, all of the teams, and practicing so much wanting to be the best at every single sport and still being able to maintain my grades. My friend and I focused so much on being the best we could at sports that we got the opportunity to play for our school’s 5th and 6th basketball team while only being in 2nd grade. Moving on to later grades, I kept my spot
