September 11, 2001 is a day that American will remember for decades to come, and it will be taught in history lessons in schools for a very long time. It was a very devastating attack that killed about 3,000 people and injured over
6,000 individuals. The attack happened through four airplanes that crashed into three important and iconic buildings in America: the pentagon and the two world trade center towers. These attacks affected every single American, living in the
States or abroad. Schools were closed, sports games were cancelled, television programs aired only updates and footage from the attack. For many, life stood still or stopped while they watched the aftermath of the damage and sought to find away to make sense of this violent attack.
The attacks of 9/11 affected the United States by increasing discrimination, endangering the health of many Americans, hurting the economy and changing foreign and security policies.
On September 11, 2001, in our time of grief, the American people came together. We offered our neighbors a hand, and we offered the wounded our blood. We reaffirmed our ties to each other, and our love of community and country. On that day, no matter where we came from, what God we prayed to, or what race or ethnicity we were, we were united as one American family.
Throughout the years there are events that stay with you, and the date September 11, 2001 is one of them. The plane hijackings, attack on the Twin Towers, and plane crashes that took place on 9/11 were tragic. Though being born that year and not being able to witness the event, I feel as though it changed me in some way. This action of terrorism effected the U.S. in many ways, that would help prevent terrorism in the long run. Which would give the new generation ideas to help prevent terrorism. Despite the years that have gone by, 9/11 will always be a travesty that will be remembered.
herefore, I believe that the attack on September 11, 2001 was a devastating day in American history. Not only did it kill many innocent people and destroy buildings and air planes, it ruined our economy and put us into a never ending war. Two hours on that Tuesday morning are having enormous ripple effects on the last 11 years since
On September 11, 2001, nineteen militants associated with the Islamic extremist group Al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks in the United States. Two planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Centre in New York City. A third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Often referred to as 9/11, the attack resulted in extensive death and destruction. This triggered the major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush. Over three thousand people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington D.C., including more than four hundred
September 11 2001 was the worst day for america when 19 men hijacked 2 plains and commanded the plain driver strait into the 2 twin towers killing almost everyone in the 2 twin towers and on the plane
The tragic events of 9/11, have drastically added to the myriad of recognized risk types and threats as well as the security recommended and required to counter those threats. The Security Manager must be aware of current threat trends, as well as mitigation strategies for the risks identified by the stakeholders. The mitigation strategies vary depending on the type of asset, location, threats and level of risk. These risks can include the spectrum of natural events and disasters, human-caused events as well as the secondary events spawned by primary events. This paper will examine special event security, its purpose, and when such security is recommended.
Tuesday, September 11th 2001. What seemed like an ordinary day, would soon become one for the books. People rushed to work and frantically prepared for their day. The events that occurred that day had lasting impacts on America. Air travel has become more of a hassle, deportation nearly skyrocketed and New Yorkers face health issues to this day.
I will be examining how the attack of 9/11 on the Twin Towers compelled urban planners to adapt and prevent future terrorists’ attacks and affected the United States’ social and cultural infrastructures. The attack of 9/11 on the Twin Towers by Osama Bin Laden killed nearly 3,000 people, and traumatized the entire nation (Facts About 9/11). This heinous act was an attempt to incur irreparable damage to the U.S. economy by destroying the Towers, and more largely, to obliterate these symbols of the American ideology of liberty and human rights (Wright 176). While America would eventually recover, this date served as a delineating line between pre and post 9/11 that effected physical, social, and cultural infrastructures. These infrastructures
September 11th, 2001 was one of the most tragic days in American history. On this day, an Islamic group called al-Qaeda launched numerous attacks on the United States and killed thousands of innocent americans. Although the cause of it all was al-Qaeda, people believe that it was in fact the U.S. government that attacked its own nation. However, evidence from live footage of the attacks show that their claims are indeed false.
Some argue that the 9/11 attacks hastened the airline industry to make changes that would have come sooner or later because many carriers were already in financial trouble. The airlines were forced to make cuts in their cost structure and renegotiate labor expenses due to a decline in passenger demand, which realistically was needed regardless of the 9/11 attacks (Logan).
On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda, a terrorist group, hijacked four airplanes, bringing down the World Trade Center and nearly destroying the Pentagon. The attacks killed 2,977 people and started a global war on terrorism (9/11 Attacks). Since Afghanistan was training terrorist groups, our military sent soldiers over to the Middle East to help slow down the assaults on our country. The attacks on the World Trade Center affected the lives of many Americans and changed the way people see the world today, especially my cousin, Master at Arms (MAA), Robert Dempewolf.
September 11, 2001, is a date that will forever be remembered not because of the terrorists that attacked America, but for the patriots who sacrificed their lives to save hundreds of innocent people. 9/11 is an attack by Islamic hijackers. The main strike is on the World Trade Centers. There were four planes included in the invasions. They included: Flight 93, Flight 11, Flight 175, and Flight 77. After the raids America had some plans and new thoughts.
The events that occurred on September 11, 2001, impacted the United States and the world. Jane Mayer highlighted these changes in her book “The Dark Side,” through her interviews on the lack of communication pre-September 11th and the changes that took place following the attacks. Mayer’s work changed many views around the United States because of the layout of the events and actions dealing with September 11, 2001, by putting them into a chronological order that allowed for the reader to receive all the information in the timeframe presented. The lost connection by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to follow the links that they had dealing with Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi when they entered the United States. These were two of the men that had been under surveillance for their associations to Al Qaeda and later were responsible for the attacks of September 11th. The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s headquarters denied access to search the laptop of Zacarias Moussaoui: An Al Qaeda operative training for the second wave of attacks. If the access were allowed the FBI would have gained information that could have halted the attacks of September 11th.
. The events that took place on September 11, 2001 will go down in history as the most tragic disasters to hit the United States of America. The destruction of the Twin Towers is a very controversial issue and is still being talked about today. It was devastating for us to see the towers fall and thousands of Americans lose their lives. It happened so fast that a lot of the details were overlooked, but now thirteen years later, one can sit down and look into what really happened on this day.
