Everything seemed normal nothing to worry about, but then everything changed and almost at the same time too. Flipping through the channels you could see it on every channel. A tragedy was happening, a plane had crashed into one of the trade center towers. 8:46 am was the beginning of the fear, worry and panic. America was under attack by terrorist. They hijacked four planes and each one was headed to a different destination. The first plane hit the north trade tower out of nowhere. Nearby people watched in awe as the first tower, the north tower was hit. Television crews rushed to the scene to be the first to broadcast what had happened. Not even 20 minutes later the second plane crashed into the south tower, causing that tower to start to burn down too. Both planes were from the United Airlines and allegedly hijacked by terrorist. The both planes had about 20,000 gallons of jet fuel on board. The plane collided with the building which caused a huge explosion followed by smoke and debris coming from the building. From that it was clear the United States was under attack.

It had just seemed like an ordinary day, but after that day had passed, the day of September 11th, was no where close to ordinary. It all started out as if it was any workday.
The day's events started with 19 men getting on 4 different flights. Those 19 men were part of the radical Islamic group Al-Qaeda (History.com staff). The first plane hit at 8:45 am on a bright sunny Tuesday morning (Anderson). The plane killed many people instantly. People on the 80th floor and above were trapped and could not get out. When the plane had hit it took out all the stairways so there was no way of getting down. 18 minutes after the first plane hit tower one a plane flew into the second tower. This time the plane hit directly in the middle of the building, cutting off many of the floors above (History.com staff). The people on the top floors of the towers were faced with a decision. They could either
At around 8:45am the first plane hit the North Tower. Killing about 1,400 people. When people saw this they immediately thought it was just a mistake. Then at 9:03am the second plane crashes into the South Tower. As soon as this happened people began to understand that this was no accident. At 9:37am Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon. It is safe to say that these attacks caused mass chaos. Approximately 2,606 people were killed in the Tower attacks and all 64 passengers and 125 employees were killed in the Pentagon attack.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, four hijackers carried out their plan of a terrorist attack on the United States. At about 9 A.M. on that day the first plane with hijacker, Mohammed Atta, crashed into the North Tower in New York City. Shortly thereafter the second hijacked plane crashed into the South Tower, alerting the United States that this was an act of terrorism. At 9:37 A.M., Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., putting the United States on high alert and shutting down flights throughout the nation. The World Trade Center, including both the North and the South Towers, collapsed early that morning, not too long after being struck by the hijacked planes. While these acts of terror had immediate physical and emotional effects on the nation, the attack also had both short-term and long-term economic effects on the United States.
September 11, 2001, millions of New Yorkers and American citizens woke up and started their day, unprepared and unaware for the catastrophic attack that would be taking place in just a few short hours. At 8:46 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. The impact killed all of the passengers and crew as well as hundreds inside the building. At 9:03 a.m., a second plane, Flight 175, crashed into the corner of the South Tower killing passenger, crew, and workers who worked on floors seventy-five to eighty-three. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. killing approximately 185 individuals (History.com Staff). Because of the damaged to the support system, fires, and impact at extremely fast speed, the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. (Lipton and Glanz). Having heard about the acts of terrorism that had just taken place in New York and Washington, D.C., a group of passengers drove their plane, Flight 93, into a Pennsylvania field killing everyone on board but possibly saving hundreds of other lives in the process. The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m. 102 minutes after being struck (History.com Staff). On September 11, 2001, almost twelve hundred people were wounded or killed by “coordinated suicide attempts” by Al Qaeda terrorists. In result to the four airplanes being hijacked and used for premediated reasons, the United States government instituted new regulations for entering the country and airport security as well as expounded on systems already in place.
It was an average Tuesday morning when the first plane struck the north tower of the World Trade Center (Chronology of Terror 1). Soon after the city was engulfed by smoke and ash. The impact was immediately fatal to all the passengers aboard flight 175 (September 11 Terror Fast Facts 1), and only twenty minutes later
At this moment, everybody there and around the world knew this was a terrorist attack. With both towers stuck by jets and both on fire, the FAA better known as the Federal Aviation Administration shut down all New York City area airports to prevent anything else from happening. The city also shut off all of its bridges and tunnels so that nobody would be able to get in or leave. At 9:43 a.m., American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon, creating a huge cloud of smoke and immediate evacuation from the building. At this moment in time people of the United States began to question exactly how many of these plans are coming and what they are going to hit. At 10:05 a.m., the south tower of the World Trade Center begins to collapse, falling straight down into the streets of New York City. A huge mass of dust and debris from the tower slowly drifts away from the building. Minutes after that, a portion of the Pentagon collapses, then around 10:10 a.m., United Airlines Flight 93, another hijacked passenger jet, crashes in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, close to Pittsburg. Around 18 minutes later, the north tower of the World Trade Center also falls to the ground, creating another big cloud of smoke and debris. The aftermath of this terrible attack affected people and their communities nationwide. It took many years to rebuild the destroyed parts of New York City.

When the North Tower collapsed, debris fell on the nearby 7 World Trade Center building, creating more fire.. At 9:42 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration
September 11, 2001 was a date where the world would change forever. In the morning of September 11, 2001, two full sized 767 Boeing passenger airplanes were hijacked and crashed directly into the admirably tall 110 story buildings at the World Trade Center in New York. The buildings that were damaged early in the morning proceeded to collapse at free fall speed immediately after the impact of each individual plane into the towers. There were also two more passenger planes hijacked that same day. One of the other two planes was directed into the United States heart of self-defense which was The Pentagon. The other plane crashed in the middle of an open field in Pennsylvania. This is one major event in the span of American history because it deals with the security of a powerful nation. It also affects the social and political stand point of a large amount of American voters. That is why this incident that killed over 3,000 people leads us to ask all the big questions; what really happened on 9/11? And why?

When American Airlines Flight 11 hit the North tower at 6:46 a.m. Mountain time, I was only 4 years old. Yet the impact of the plane into the tower would send reverberations into the rest of my life, and into the lives of Americans everywhere. This moment would result in cries of revenge, the invasion/occupation of six Middle Eastern countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen), the creation of enhanced interrogation, the enactment of The PATRIOT Act, and a ten year manhunt for the most wanted man in the world.
The first attack that took place that day was at 8:46 in the morning. This is when America truly changed. In this morning, a plane carrying thousands of gallons of jet fuel flew straight into the north building of the World Trade Center killings thousands. A few minutes later, another plane carrying passengers and thousands of gallons of jet fuel flew into the other building of the World Trade Center. With jet fuel on fire everywhere, people burned. These people struggled to stay alive in the thick smoke. Some people couldn’t stand the pain. These people would jump out of the building falling many stories to their death. The World Trade Center would eventually collapse about an hour and a half after it was attacked. Over
