Dolores Ramirez Prof Grace Rocha Writing 10 Section 29 Rough-Draft #2 March 18, 2013 A Best Friend is Man’s Best Friend Dogs have been known to be “Man’s Best Friend” for thousands of years. More commonly known to be man’s best friends are dogs, rather than cats and any other animal. Most people consider a best friend as someone who is there for you when you are sad or lonely, when you need someone to talk, cry, or laugh, however a man’s best friend is all the same and more. Dog’s today are referred as man’s best friend because they are loyal, faithful, intuitive, trust worthy and loveable. People are read by their body language and interpreted by their voice tones. Dogs can feel and smell the changes in the air when bad weather is brewing, and if the humans pay attention to their dogs they may be better prepared for whatever is coming. One thing I’ve always stood by is the belief that if a dog immediately decides not to like someone despite being “introduced” and never having any interaction with that person, there is something about the person that the dog recognizes as a threat in some way. Whether dogs are trained as a guard dog or not, all canines are loyal and defensive of their family and home, if a burglar were to break in, dogs will defend their home and family with their very lives. Dogs have been known to awaken their owners by barking and pulling them from their beds when there is danger about. This natural intuition is what makes dogs ideal for being trained as service dogs and for search and rescue work. Dogs are more sensitive to our emotions, they notice when there is tension and stress in the house or happiness and elation. They respond to their surroundings. Trust in general is very important to people because it is necessary for meaningful, long-lasting relationships. There are two very important components of trust. The first is to trust, or have confidence that others will do the right thing. The second is to be trustworthy or to demonstrate through our words
When reading a story with animals as the main focus, human characteristics are either found in or projected onto the characters in order to make them relatable. “Man’s best friend” -a.k.a. dogs- are relatively easy to relate to for this reason; people see their dogs as one of the family, talking to and sometimes
To me trust is being able to count on someone during good times and during bad times.
This has led to the belief that dogs can provide company, affection and support to people who are going through a difficult time or who feel lonely. Dogs have aided humans in tasks such as hunting, livestock herding, and guarding. However, as society moved from small rural communities to increasingly large metropolitan areas, the dog’s role changed. Throughout the years a more specific type of
What is trust? The dictionary meaning of trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. The second meaning is, confidence placed in a person by making that person the nominal owner of property to be held or used for the benefit of one or more others. But what can we really define as trust? In this paper, I will discuss how trust is used every day in different situations, how we deal with trust in various relationships, and how we as individuals practice trust within ourselves.
Trust has to be earned by everyone. Trust is a very serious word, because it can mean so much to one person. It's usually pretty hard to gain trust and if you break the trust it’s really hard to gain it back. There’s people out there that you can never trust. These people do anything to help themselves out and only care about themselves.
Dogs are the closest creature to man. Sure they are considered as best friend by some. Compared to others, they show an attitude of a friend. They stay beside you no matter what. They also have this sacrificial attitude for their owners. Their being playful and sweet is also remarkable, to the extent that you find yourself longing for them.
Although I have heard from so many people, that a dog is a man 's best friend, I always wondered what completes their strong relationship. Similarities, loyalty, or possibly companionship? There is a reason why we call dogs a man 's best friend. We can learn so many things from a dog 's behavior, attitude, personality, and willingness to provide love and loyalty. When we come home from a long day at work, dog 's do not judge us. No matter how grumpy and tired we are, our dog is happy to see us. It will always greet us with a positive and enthusiastic mind. Appreciating what is happening at the moment, is something that we can learn from our pets. They do not think about what is going to happen tomorrow. They live in the present moment. "As we age, so many people lose the capacity to play, to have fun and enjoy the moment." (Herzog 97) The relationships between humans and dogs grow from attitude, personality and behavior. Dogs can
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a pet as “a domesticated animal kept for pleasure rather than a utility.” Dogs have been considered man's best friend for centuries. They have stood side by side through natural disasters, family tragedies, the gift of life, birthdays, and anything else that comes to mind. These furry friends do not judge people for how they look, but show love and compassion to everyone. Dogs help people cope mentally and emotionally, receive sufficient exercise, and create new friendships.
Man’s best friend: you would think that that title would conjure up images of humans, or even our closest cousins in the animal kingdom, such as monkeys, apes, and chimpanzees. However, the first image that enters most humans head is the same image that would have induced fear hundreds of years ago, the not so distant heir to the wolf: dogs. The same creatures that we feuded with for survival now take up a huge part of our lives and make up a large portion of the images littering the internet. Dogs take part in everything from movies to family gatherings, to search and rescue and emotional or physical service. Nearly fifty percent of American households alone have at least one dog, and between all of us we own 83.3 million dogs, a number not to be trifled with. The place our four-legged canine companions claim is undisputed and easily backed up.
Have you ever noticed that dog owners are happier and healthier than non dog owners?Dogs have been used for centuries and we still love them as our trusting companions. There are many reasons that dogs are called a “mans’ best friend”. Having a dog can have many benefits including lower risk of cardiovascular complications, they can improve your mood, and they can help with many physical and mental disabilities in the form of service dogs or mobility support dogs.
Cute, fun, loving, cuddly, outgoing; these are only a few words to describe the animals that we have come to know and love as a part of our families. Dogs have been man’s best friend for hundreds of years and were the first animal to be domesticated because they are great as companions, highly intelligent, and were found to be very useful in human’s everyday lives. Even though they made excellent house pets they were highly successful at working side by side humans as well. They are not limited to being just best friends, but they have been found to be protectors and saviors as well, to their owners, others people and even other dogs too. One type of working dogs in
Having trust makes one fell safe and free of fear enough so that they can focus on other things.
When I hear the word trust I think of friends. You have to have a lot of trust in your friends and they need to be able to trust you. I have a huge amount of trust in my best friend, I tell her everything. There are some people who say that you can trust them, but then it turns out that you can’t and they’ve told everyone your secret. I think that trust is confiding in a person or people that you know if you say, “don’t tell anyone,” they won’t tell anyone. For instance, in Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence kept Romeo and Juliet’s trust by not telling anyone about their marriage. I think that Romeo and Juliet trusted each other enough
Trust is a value that was very hard for me to learn. I was always afraid that someone was going to hurt me one way or another. My mother was always telling me that I should learn to trust others so that they could help me from time to time, but I never could do it. Eventually I finally learned to trust others a few years ago. I have realized that other people can do many things for you if you just trust in them. This helps me in the relationships I have with my friends. Trust doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time. I have learned that trusting certain people is worth the risk, and helps the relationships I have with them.
“A dog is a man’s best friend” goes much deeper than the phrase might initially imply. Recently many medical journals have begun to identify with the many and varied benefits of pet ownership. Men have always relied upon animals for work, transportation, and survival. As times have changed, man has begun to appreciate a different bond with animals. Gone are the days of animals running free outside around the homestead, for now animals are allowed inside and are considered by many to be an integral part of our daily lives! Medical studies have found that animals have a much greater intelligence level than originally thought. Through proper training and experience, animals are not only household pets, but also are becoming an accepted form
