William Henry Gates III was born in 1955 in Seattle, Washington U.S.A. He was a middle kid and was the only boy besides his father, in his family. He is more commonly known as Bill Gates.
When he was in sixth grade, he wasn’t performing well in school, so his parents sent him to counseling. Gates thought his counselor was cool. He let him read books after each session. He got really into psychological theory.
Bill Gates also loved being challenged. “ As a student, I took notes with either hand, using my right hand when I was bored and wanted a small challenge.” One time, when he was at his church’s confirmation class, he was told to memorize the Sermon on the Mount. All the other kids struggled through the passage but Bill impressed

Almost a dozen Lakeside students became programing pioneers. Gates was a self-teaching kind of kid and by age 13, he had taught himself computer programing.
The Lakeside programmers or Students Club was formed for Gates and some other kids with the same passion of his. Gates was kicked out of the club because he was two years younger and was thought to be immature. The club let him back in because they couldn't do without him. Gates was in charge of the projects after that. The kids were on the computer so much that they racked up huge amounts of hourly charges and the device had to go.
Soon, however, a mother came up with something great. The Computer Center Corporation or C-Cubed office would let the club have free time on the computer if they searched for programing errors. Every evening when all the C-Cubed employes left, three high school boys would arrive. They would stay up for hours working because they thought it was so much fun. Gates and his friends made a 300 page manual called The Problem Report Book. It was used by C-Cubed’s programmers.
Gates’ passion for a challenge got him in trouble when he broke into C-Cubed’s protected program. Gates wiggled past the password protection and was granted access to the company’s information. The adventure made the computer crash and his doings were discovered. he had to stay away from computers
Bill Gates (William Henry Gates III) was “brought” to this world on October 28, 1955 in the “lands” of Seattle, Washington. He growed up in an upper-class family with his two sisters: Kristianne and Libby Gates. His father, William H. Gates Sr., was a shy and promising law student when he met his “future” wife, Mary Maxwell, who was an ongoing student as an athletic in the University of Washington. Mary, at the time, was actively involved in student affairs and leadership. His families atmosphere is very warm and close and all of the three children, including Bill himself, were all promoted to be competitive and academically intelligent by their parents. However, Bill showed early signs of “competitiveness” whenever he plans to play board games, such as Monopoly and Risk, with the family at their summer house located in Puget Sound. In his childhood, Bill had a very close relationship with his mother since she would often take
After his introduction, he began to recall his school life when he was studying in the Harvard. By telling his story, he told audience how he began his business. After his business, he talked about what he had thought about during the 30 years. Then, his main point came out: “In your years here, I hope you've had a chance to think about how--in this age of accelerating technology--we can finally take on these inequities, and we can solve them.” Then, Bill Gates gave an example for the inequities: there were millions of children were dying from poverty and disease. Then, Gates started talked about how to help these children from dying, “If we can find approaches that meet the needs of the poor in ways that generate profits for business and
After Gates graduated high school, with a perfect 800 on the SAT, he went to Harvard law school in 1973 (“Gates, Bill” 2) (“Gates, William Henry, III” 1). In 1975 his friend Paul Allen came up to him while Bill was in college and showed him a Popular Mechanics article about a $350 microcomputer, Gates read this article and was convinced that he wanted to be in the computer industry (“Gates, William Henry, III” 1). As a sophomore in college he and Paul Allen made the computer language BASIC compatible to microcomputers, this took much skill and he was the first to do it (Leaders of info 2). He did this for a company called MITS (Leaders of info 2). This shows his motivation to do well in the world, and to be successful. With this new success in the BASIC software, he dropped out of Harvard and went to pursue his new career (“Gates, Bill 1). He went to Albuquerque, New Mexico with Paul and they both founded a new company called Microsoft to mass produce their new software (Leaders of Info 2).
Not only did Gates build Microsoft but he also showed people that they would not get away with stealing computer software.
Gates was born in 1950, and raised in Piedmont, West Virginia, by his father, Henry Louis Sr. and his mother Pauline Coleman Gates. His father worked at the local Westvaco paper mill during the day and worked nights as a janitor for a local telephone company in order to support his family. Gates ' mother, was a house cleaner and worked hard to raise her sons to live and excel in an integrated world so that they
Gates dropped out of college to start a business with another student like him and then soon after launched as a billionaire. Malcolm Gladwell explains that it wasn’t as simple as that for Bill Gates. Gates and his friend, Paul Allen, had spent hours on programming until late hours at the University of Washington near his family home. What was an addiction to programming and 10,000 hours later for Allen and Gates, lead to being a successful launch of the well-known Microsoft program. Although Gates’ hard work paid off, he was fortunate to have access and opportunities to use computer technology when very few had the chance to come near a computer.
Bill Gates first took an interest in computer programming when he was 13 years old, while attending school. The school used funds from sales and donations and was able to purchase the students an ASR-33 Teletype terminal and computer time on a General Electric computer terminal. Bill, instantly intrigued, was able to get excused from his regular classes to work with the computer. Bill, then, gained his interest in computer programming. He was able to develop a program where the students could play the computer in a game of tic-tac-toe. This was the beginning of Bill Gates career (Bill Gates, 2011).
William Gates III was born in Seattle, Washington in 1955. When he was thirteen, he wrote his first software program, which enabled him and his friends to play tic-tac-toe. While Gates was attending Harvard, his best friend Paul Allen showed him the newest electronic hardware system in Popular Electronics magazine. A man named Ed Roberts had invented the
Gates entered Harvard University in 1973 and pursued his studies for the next year and a half. However, his life changed in January 1975 when Popular Mechanics carried a cover story on a $350 microcomputer, the Altair, made by a firm called MITS in New Mexico. When Allen showed him the story, Gates knew where he wanted to be: at the forefront of
On December 15, 1950, Sylvester James Gates was born in Tampa, Florida. His parents were Charlie Engels and Sylvester James Gates, Sr. His parents wanted him to have a good education, but they moved a lot because his father was in the Army. He was accepted to MIT in 1969 after graduating from high school. In1977, he got a Ph. D in Physics. He became an assistant professor in applied mathematics in 1982 before becoming a full professor of physics in 1988 at University of
Mr. Gates continue his education in Harvard Law where he was admitted with a SAT score 1590 (over 99.65%) but on his second year he left all behind to pursue his vision.
Gates was fascinated by the machine and how it would always execute software code perfectly. At age 17, Gates formed a venture with Allen, called Traf-O-Data, to make traffic counters based on the Intel 8008 processor.
Gates’ passion for technology began at the age of 8, when he built his first computer program. This program allowed the player to compete in a game of tic tac toe
When William Henry Gates came into the world in the year 1955, the fledgling computer industry was still trying to spread its wings and fly. AOn the day he was born in 1955, fewer then 500 electronic computers had existed in the entire world, their total retail value amounted to less then $200 million, and the term Asoftware@ had not yet been coined.@(Manes, 2) Bill first laid a hand on a computer in 1968 while in junior high school. The computer business was rapidly transforming at this time, and so was Bill Gates. He saw the real profitable side of computers was not their hardware. Rather it was the software end of the business. Good software is what makes a computer exciting and easy to use. Bill Gates grabbed this concept and ran with it. The result: As of 1993 AGates was personally worth more than $2 billion@, and his company, Microsoft, was Avalued at more than $7 billion.@(Manes, 2)
William Henry “Bill” Gates III, was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, to a wealthy family (Heller 6). His parents were William H. Gates III, a prominent attorney, and Mary, a school teacher (William Henry (Bill) Gates). Because Gates and his father had the same name his parents nicknamed him “Trey,” referring to the III at the end of his full name. Gates struggled in public elementary school, so his parent enrolled him in private Lakeside School. There, he was
