Always when I was a little kid people always asked me what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do in life and I always told them I’m not sure. Now over the past couple months people have kept asking me more and more but I always say I am not sure. My goals in life are to go to college and get a good paying job, and maybe a family and nice house. Now I've decided I would like to be an x-ray technician. I’ve been doing some research and I think an x-ray technician is something that I would like to do, and I think I would enjoy the job of helping people out. When a patient arrives x-ray technicians ask then medical, or personal questions that need to be asked, then the person is x-rayed. X-ray technicians also help medical professionals diagnose
Career as an Xray Technician could be an awarding job. An xray technician is in the medical field in which you can work at hospitals, doctor offices, medical and diagnostic laboratories, diagnostic imaging centers and outpatient care centers. The most common name for xray technicians are none as radiologic technicians. As an xray technician you can also have specialties in fluoroscopy, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is the most frequently asked yet daunting question. As a child I gave trivial answers like a grocery packer or shoe shiner. As I matured my answers always included positions in the medical field including a psychiatrist, physical therapist, and x-ray technician. While all of these careers involve helping others they failed to suit my personality. They were either to involved or not involved enough with the patient.
What has always been your dream career growing up? My dream career has been to be a radiologist, but not just any kind of radiologist an X-Ray technician. The outline of a radiologist is very interesting. The statistics stated in my essay will provide more information on X-Ray techs and radiologist in general.
Radiology Technologist have been around for almost a century. “Radiology Technologist works in various places taking diagnostic imaging examinations for patients, which are x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography.” (eHow) This job is one of the few in the world that can give the risk of cancer to the rad-techs. And is stilled one of the most needed in the medical field. Radiology Technologist needs to understand computers and what the x-rays show, and how to set up a patient for and x-ray to be taken. Radiology Technologist are one of the highest paid in the medical field. This is because the job has more risk than any other job in the medical field. The radiology technologists have used x-rays for what has almost been in use
Even at a young age, people begin to ask you what you want to be when you grow up. Children’s answers will range anywhere from ballerina, to firefighter, to President of the United States. However, as you get older, the question becomes more serious. As a high schooler, you feel as if you need to know exactly where you will end up thirty years into the future. Since senior year began, I have tried my best to understand my strengths and goals in life so that I can prepare for my future.
Sneaking up on me, the end of my senior year is starting appearing, the most frequent question I get asked is,” What are you going to do after high school?” That question for me isn't a hard one--in fact, it is rather easy. At the age of 10, I knew I wanted to become some type of teacher, or someone in the medical field, I didn't know what exactly. At the age of 15 I was in an accident that helped me realize what I wanted to become.
There are many benefits to working in the Healthcare industry. Health careers offer job security, a clean working environment, opportunities for advancement, and satisfaction from helping people. Currently, my mom, Traci Mitchell, is an x-ray technician.
Even though many people have said to me that it is alright not to know what I want to do, I still worry about it. Recently I have thought that either graphic design or architecture would be nice because I enjoy designing things, but I am not sure that either of those things would actually make me happy. I know I want to be able to enjoy my job and make enough money to have a good home and support a family, but with both of those careers I would most likely be required to move away to find a job. That is something I would really rather not do.
Throughout my life, one question has plagued me during icebreakers, uncomfortable family gatherings, and standardized tests: what do you want to be when you grow up? I went through the standard set of responses as I grew up (ballerina, Rockstar, astronaut, Godzilla, etc.), but when I finally got to the age when what I answered actually mattered, I found that I really had no idea. I antagonized over the question, trying to work my way backward: What did that question even mean? Was it just to find a job or a career, something that paid the bills, or something that truly made me happy? For much longer than probably advisable, I put off answering The Question. Thankfully, the universe felt generous enough to drop some pretty obvious hints my way.
I would be the best person for a radiology tech job because, when I go to college to learn how to properly do it, I will get the hang of it. Basically what a radiology tech person do is take pictures of bones, the only reason I know this is because my sister work as a radiology tech. Im great at taking regular pictures but, taking pictures of bones is a whole different story. You have to use this big machine to take the picture. My talents are dancing and acting but, my talents does have anything to do with what I want to be in life. I really haven’t had any accomplishments yet but i'm working on it. In five years, I plan to be still in school because im trying to get a Dr. Degree, so I can be certified. I would also have another job until
Radiologic technologists, often referred to as radiographers, are given the duty of preparing and completing x-rays of patients, as well as the maintenance and upkeep of the imaging equipment involved in this process. MRI technologists serve a similar purpose, although instead of operating and maintaining the equipment required to take x-rays, they have magnetic resonance imaging scanners, more commonly referred to as MRI scanners. Along with the maintenance of the imaging equipment, both radiologic and MRI technologists specialize in the preparation of certain dyes or drinks that make the imaging process easier and more effective.
A radiologist is awesome because they help someone, most of the time, more than one person a day! A radiologist is a cool job because it is health related. This job specializes in reading and recognizing situations that cannot be seen with the human naked eye, well without any special technology of course. Reading an X-ray is very difficult in many ways. To read an X-ray, there is special training that one has to go through. After reading an X-ray, the radiologist has to inform the patient what is wrong within their body and what they can do to help heal better, and correctly. Another job like this one is Physical Therapy. A physical therapist is a health related job that helps the patient after a surgery or a broken bone to help heal the patient, which makes it a cool career. A physical therapist gives a patient certain exercises to help heal the body and help them to be able to do things they used
A lot of people ask what you want to be when you grow up. I know that question is the most important decision you will make in your life. My parents say to stay in school and try to get good grades so you can get into a good college because I want to be a vet technician. The quote that I tend to follow is “If your dreams aren’t big enough, your achievements won’t be a big impact on your life.” -Abdul Kreen
The quality of medical imaging is of the utmost importance in terms of safety, and must be strictly regulated through federal legislature in addition to state legislature, ensuring the persons administering radiation are held to the highest of standards. Successfully completing accredited programs in radiologic sciences, having thorough knowledge of and resolute compliance with the rules of ethics, as well as achieving certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) by means of examination warrants an imaging professional with the tools necessary to provide and maintain a safe environment for themselves and their patients alike. Respectively, all of these components contribute to a health care professional’s
Radiology Technicians is one of the best jobs to me and by getting the chance to research it I have learned so many new things that are so inspiring to me. I never really knew how powerful radiology really was to people and how easy it is to help patients with something like this. I learned the many different tasks preformed each day are done by the hard-working technicians. Some of them aren't the easiest, but it isn't about you, it is about how much you helped make someone else's life matter to them. This job demands a lot from a person inside and out, emotionally and physically. You need to be consistent with your patients and give them the special attention they deserve. Being a Radiology Technician, is not an easy job and each and everyday
