A few months later, I found myself riding with Halt back to his quaint little cottage nestled in the woods. He was teaching me about animal tracks. As our horses tread against the snow that lay on the ground, I noticed a massive print next to the cottage, and Halt said it was a giant boar. A man was lying in the bushes and came out to claim that he had seen the boar first hand, and that it was a mad and destructive one. Halt told him to go to the castle and tell the Baron to gather a group of men so that we can all go hunt the boar in the morning. The next day, I found myself on horseback on the outside of a circle of warriors, and Horace. If the boar were to escape through our circle, I was to chase it down and finish it off with my bow. …show more content…
The boar came bursting out of the shrubs and one man had knelt down with his specialized weapon and killed it. Everyone had went to applaud the man, when another boar came rushing out of the shrubs right towards Horace and I! He knelt down with the same weapon, but lost his footing on some ice! I shot the boar with one arrow to distract it, then it came after me! I ran behind a tree to barely dodge it, then shot it again. The boar was so fast it caught up to me! Thankfully Tug, my horse, came in at full speed and slammed into the boar. I yelled for Tug to run away, and the boar was swinging it’s deadly horns right towards Tug! Tug dodged the horns long enough for me to land another arrow into the monster. I distracted the boar and it came charging at me again! I held out my long knife, and then saw the boar fall to the ground! Halt had shot an arrow into the vital spot of the boar to kill it! I was praised for days. I was out in the open meadow next to Halt’s cottage when three second-year Battleschool boys came over to me. They talked to me, then tried to fight me! It was an unfair fight considering it was 3 on 1 and they all had heavy canes as

Cal walked through a trail in the woods during the last gasps of dying summer. Browning ferns brushed against his jeans while he paced. The trail was overgrown and undefined, and Cal stomped through sticks and tree branches to make his way through. He emerged through the thicket into a clearing for a power line route. He saw the old derelict boat, his family’s boat, nested in its 30 year resting place. He walked up to it and put his hands on the giant steering wheel and looked down at the undergrowth of plants at its base. Traditionally, the end of august was prime huckleberry season. And the base of the old boat was traditional grounds for some sizeable huckleberry bushes. When he was younger, Cal, his sister and cousin would bring buckets

As she made her way to the chicken coop Atalanta over heard the murmurs from the women in long gowns “you won’t believe what happened at the market this morning!” the woman with the soft lilac dress exclaimed “ a giant boar came crashing into the stalls destroying all the produce! That boar had to be as mad as a hatter!” The woman proclaimed. The other woman’s eyebrow rose in disbelief, but stayed silent as the woman walked down to the bakery and continue their morning gossip. How the boar and the men that chase it have to put up a fight before the boar is
In a small farming village named Haten around 1648, a legend spread through the town. It said that if a hunter lucky enough to find and shoot a blue spirit in the form of a rabbit with a bow and arrow in the Devil’s Woods, they could cure any illness that was afflicted with a human. Of course, many people jumped at this myth, and set out to find those rabbits so they could cure the mysterious illness the village leader had, as a great reward was being held. In their travels, many of them never returned or came back with serious injuries, and more rumors told how a malicious beast named Raion, a centaur with a lion’s head, that wielded a sword and a magical bow wandered the forest, picking off hunters one by one who dared hunt the blue rabbits. One hunter, however, was unfazed by these tales of

As the Sun began to peek over the horizon, silhouettes of deer appeared exponentially. One..two..ten..twenty!? The golden light cascaded over the never-ending, undulating plains. As my father and I admired the beautiful display of nature before us, I spotted an interesting sight. Four hundred yards away, a dominant beast trotted proudly through the sorghum. Clearly a seasoned buck, his muscular stature and towering antlers were sufficient in warding off rival deer. Marveling at the trophy from a distance, I waited for my opportunity.
My breathing slows as I eye the doe before me. I pull my arm back as I stand up from where I crouch behind a lush green tree. The spear I held in my hand is lightweight but can hit something with incredible speed and force. I take a stance while letting out a soft breath. I lunged. The spear flies from my hand, impaling the doe through the chest. It falls limp, its head lolling. I walk towards it, my wavy red skirt, high in the front and low in the back, sways as I walk towards the dead animal. I bend down to pick up the doe and I lug it over my shoulder. My double bladed spear is in its sheath on my belt. I begin to trudge back to the tavern. I’m a bartender and I provide the meat we serve. The woods are alive with twittering birds and
‘Almost there! Hang in there Mathias, we’ve almost got a few deer down, so you’ll finally be able to have a proper meal. Then you won’t have to be cooped up in the dens all the time’ She thought, as she, Mahlah, Tarra, Asta, Bella, Asher, and Aeron sprinted after a twelve point buck and a meaty doe. Aeron took a sharp right into the clans’ forest, and soon cut in front of the deer, making them turn different directions, and attempt to escape. They would’ve if the others hadn’t have caught onto her plan, and quickly surrounded the deer. Tarra and the feline leapt swiftly onto the deer and broke their necks, well, tried to, Tarra did. “I got you Eclipse!” Asta called out, tackling the doe, and attacking the nape, spewing blood onto herself and
Many weeks after finishing his plan, Arnis thought about how his act of bravery would be serving all the cows on the farm and even make him quite liked among the other animals. Exactly one week before the party, Arnis woke up with a great grin on his face and slowly walked over to the barn where all of the pigs from the Berl Hallow Farm were inside purchasing gifts for the party. Once Arnis arrived the barn doors he smashed straight into the doors, flinging them both wide open. Once Arnis was in the barn, he ploughed straight into the many stalls that were set up inside the barn making very powerful thumping noises, which were heard by the farmers. Once Arnis had crashed into most of the stalls, he then ploughed into the pigs as they were running desperately to escape the barn. When the farmers finally arrived at the barn and saw what Arnis had done, they pursued after him, however after a few moments the farmers realised Arnis was too fast and ran back to the barn to tend to the injured
