A Homeless Task Force was created by the Mayor of Sidney, Ohio. He saw that there were homeless citizens who were suffering in the cold. He created a Task Force in order to start programming and community services for these individuals.
In early 2016, Sidney First United Methodist Church offered their facility as a warming center for those who were homeless and did not have a place to stay overnight on cold nights.

Secret communities are living within the boarders of every state in America. Americas lost and forgotten people reside within these encampments. Homelessness in Alachua County affected seven hundred and seventy seven people last year (DCF). A solution to the problem of homeliness in the community is the Fruitful Blessing Outreach. This Outreach will provide basic needs, socialization and reintegrate the local homeless back into the community.
The followings are the possible extraneous variables that can be influenced the study include: Settings, present health status, and the tool using (tape recorder). Settings can influence the result of this study because homeless individuals who live on the streets roam around and they normally do not have a stable place to be. Fortunately, these particular homeless individuals can be controlled because they can be targeted at Salvation Army Ministries lunches serving streets in most of the Polk County. These individuals regularly roaming on these specific streets and corners to get lunch every day and they will be the best participants to recruit for this study. The present health status must also consider because if their basic needs such
Of that number, roughly 360,000 were individuals with 15% being chronically homeless and about 8% consisting of veterans. The National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) is a national network of activists, advocates, faith and community based service providers, and others committed to a single mission to prevent and end
In recent years, the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have identified rapid re-housing as a critical strategy to meeting the national goal of ending family homelessness by 2020 (USICH 2013). As noted in a recent update of Opening Doors, the federal plan to end homelessness, "[US Department of Health and Human Services], HUD, [the US Department of Veterans Affairs], and USICH have joined forces to promote expansion of rapid re-housing as a part of community coordinated systems" (USICH 2013). Rapid re-housing, an intervention that helps homeless families exit shelters and get back into permanent housing quickly, provides short-term help with housing expenses (e.g., rent arrears, ongoing rent assistance, moving costs) and case management focused on housing stability. Rapid re-housing is a relatively new but, as early evidence shows, promising strategy that communities across the country are
Project H.O.M.E. has created a comprehensive “continuum of care,” consisting of street outreach and supportive residential programs (Hall 3). The programs begin with entry-level housing, which then can become permanent housing. Each step provides comprehensive services like employment, education, and healthcare. Their Outreach Coordination Center is a program coordinating private and public agencies doing outreach with homeless persons in Philadelphia. Once these individuals are off the streets, Project H.O.M.E. provides residential options. These residential programs are designed to help previously homeless people with individual challenges in their effort to alter their lives. Project H.O.M.E. has two entry-level “safe havens” with a total of 65 beds. One, St. Columba, provides a home for older men who continue to struggle with mental
I have decided to create a social program that identifies the social problem of Homelessness. The new human services, social program will target helping homeless individuals and families to get off the streets. In order to have a successful program I have to come up with an outline and cover all of the basics. This program will have many different resources available to homeless or about to be homeless individuals and families. There are so many homeless people out there and her in the state of Florida there are not many places for homeless people to turn to for comfort and safety. So I am truly excited to be creating this new program that will help many people to go forward and live wonderful and successful lives, no matter what they have been through. Throughout this paper I will be discussing some of the things that are needed in order to start an organization. This paper will serve as an outline or an information source on how to create a social program as well as the social program that I am creating.

We live in a world where it is survival of the fittest. It is hard to succeed, one wrong decision can easily lead someone into a financial struggle. This can lead to homelessness. Homelessness is not a lifestyle that one would choose by choice. In 2003, there has been "... as many as 1.3 million Canadians that have experienced homelessness...at some point during the last 5 years." Affordable housing costs less on an annual basis compared to putting the homeless in prison. Canada was the last to have an action plan towards ending homelessness and as we are understanding; the prisons are being over-populated.
Poverty reduction is a major goal and issue for many organizations such as the United Nations and The World Bank. The World Bank estimated that approximately 46 million Americans live in poverty (Olinto, 2013). Without services that help enough to end homelessness. They support homeless people, many people fail to realize that housing is often not enough to end homelessness. There are many ways that we can help homeless people, just by providing services.
Homelessness is a problem that happens in many different countries around the world. Definitions of homelessness are defined in different meanings by different people. However, the Stewart B. McKinney Act defines a homeless person as “ one who lacks a fixed permanent nighttime residence or whose nighttime residence is a temporary shelter, welfare hotel, or any public or private place not designed as sleeping accommodations for human beings” (McNamara 1025). It is impossible to find out exactly the number of homeless; however, the researchers can do a study to estimate that number. Based on different statistics from different researchers, the homeless population in America has been increasing as “an alarming rate” (Markos and Lima).
In my early career in human services, I worked at The Coalition for the Homeless Nonprofit agency. I was based off site in a local shelter and worked within the Bound for Success program, an afterschool setting for children and youth ages 5 through 14. I provided intake assessments and case management to the children and their families. I worked with these families to provide direct and indirect services designed to meet the individual needs of the child. These needs included behavioral needs, educational needs, and/ or emotional needs. Working with this age group provided me with deeper insight into the psychology of child development. This knowledge is basic for guiding and understanding young children because an enormous amount of growth and change occurs during these years.
“The mission of the Homelessness Task Force is to find solutions to end homelessness in the Kansas City metropolitan area through partnerships among nonprofit agencies, private business, governmental entities, philanthropic organizations, the investment community, and
What can be proposed by the city to the public audience to help the homeless in need? In Anaheim, there is a problem with the growing amount of homeless people on the streets of our city; their presence has been increasing within parks, streets, in front of businesses, etc. The reason for why we chose this topic is because our group wants to be able to help these individuals get their life back on track, rather them having these unemployed people living out on the filthy streets. I constantly see individuals begging for money at the exits of freeways and cross lights, instead of seeing them work for their money. To do this, we need to be able to convince our community to propose programs to city hall that will help homeless
