A typical Monday morning for people might include waking up early and getting dressed or taking a shower. However, a Monday morning for A.J. Malika usually starts with him proclaiming to murder the alarm clock.
“People may say school is painful, but I always think that waking up early is a whole new level of torture,” he has proclaimed in the past.
A.J. is a 16 years old with dark skin and is mainly a typical high school student. He gets As and Bs in every class and is primarily a guy of good judgement, but that’s not the case when it comes to choosing friends.

Jesse and his crew started with the wheels, getting all four off before Mrs. Crassman walked outside with the rest of the teachers on their lunch break. At that moment, everyone flees from the car, leaving the tires and the full bucket of pink paint on the ground. Mrs. Crassman screams in fear at the same time the masked pranksters dart away from the vehicle. Most of the group manages to get away, but the gym teacher, Mr. McAtkins, a college wrestling champion, body slams Alfonso before he can get away. While the chaos ensues, A.J. is still recording everything from behind a bush, in the small flower garden in front of the school and hasn’t stopped recording since he first saw Jesse with the jocks. He soon realizes the dangers of being in the bushes just inches away from teachers who are hungry to put some kids in detention. He lies down and covers himself with leaves and petals, not being able to see or record. A hand reaches out and pulls A.J. out of the flowers bush. Luckily for him, it’s only Jesse. As Jesse begins to swear out loud, A.J. notices it’s time for them to get to their next class,
J.T. – is a male African – American sixteen-year-old who always gets in trouble. He is a good-looking guy and is great at playing basketball. J.T. tries his best to take care of his mother without causing more trouble for others. He has had a bad history; however, he seems to have learned from his mistakes and is now working for a better future. In the story, he felt very sad for having to fight Peaches and promises to repay her for her help with his mother.
I left the house to meet up with the gang. Outside the cul de sac, about eight houses away, Ponyboy was sitting on the curb, smoking a cigarette.
