Do you like challenges? Do you care deeply about other people, their problems, and their pain? How about science? These are all things that an Allopathic Physician would answer yes to. An Allopathic Physician is a doctor that checks patients, conducts diagnostics test, checks medical history, and does so much more. Though, an Allopathic Physician isn’t just a career choice and dedication of hard work and determination, but something larger than yourself that takes over 10 years in medical school, the will of helping others, and being the change you wish to see the world.

During this time they receive basic knowledge in science, biology, physics, and other areas pertaining to this field. After they have received undergraduate education, they would then progress onto medical school.
In medical school, an allopathic physician would do four years at one of the US medical schools approved by the LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education). These four years of medical school will consist of pre-clinical and clinical parts. Shortly after the pre-med students would earn their MDs degrees. Though this would seem like the end of medical school, it is only the beginning of a whole another chapter of school. Residency.
Residency normally lasts from anywhere from three to seven years, depending on what area you’ve chosen to specialize in. The length of my residency would be a total of eight years, because of the areas that i want to specialize in. Though my first year of residency would be almost like an internship. The training is under the supervision of a senior physician education.
Fellowship is the next step in this lengthy process, it last for one to three years. This is additional training for doctors who want to become highly specialized in a particular field. Though it is not required for most allopathic physicians, I would have to complete this stage due to the areas that I want to specialize in.
Finally, the last step to receive all my requirements for an M.D. is to apply for the license
