Introduction
The program’s goal is to create a psychotherapeutic environment where individuals can acquire fundamental techniques to function in a relationship. These techniques will provide the venue for personal growth, and consist of developing self-esteem, acquire problem solving, and decision making skills, learn to manage finances, even learn parenting skills among others. Furthermore, in clinical settings individuals often seek psychotherapy when relationships are not working, or the relationships failed (Gurman & Burton, 2014). This program will be preventative in the form of providing skills that will promote personal growth. Through personal growth the individual may be better equipped to manage a relationship effectively. The

Flynn-Piercy (2002) conducted a heuristic study examining the impact of Relate counsellors training on their relationships with their partners. It was found that there was a significant impact on these relationships, which trainees had been unprepared for. The advantages of their training included improved communication, a disadvantage was that partners became “personally de-stablised” (Flynn-Piercy, 2002: 55). Despite the advantages, there was an overall threat to the relationships. This study is, however, not generalisable to all trainee counsellors since it only examined those training as Relate counsellors who specifically work in the area of relationships.

The city I chose from Miami-Dade is Opa Locka, there are a myriad of reasons why I chose Opa Locka. Indeed, Opa Locka in 2009 had the worst crime rates in the U.S says Calvin Godfrey of the Miami New Times. Opa Locka has a population of 15219 residents; the city's population is spread out with 34.6% under the age of 18, 12.3% from 18 to 24, 26.8%of adults from 25 to 44, 17.7% of them was over 45 to 64, and 8.5% of the elderly who were 65 years of age or older (Census.gov). The median age was 27 years of age. For every 100 females in Opa Locka there were 85.6 males. For every 100 females over the age of 18 and older, there were only 77.1 males in the Opa Locka (Census.gov).

Florida became United States territory in the year of 1821 and it consisted of just two counties known as Escamba to the West and St. Johns to the East divided by the Suwanee River and all other counties were created from those two original counties. Although Florida was United States territory it wasn’t until the year of 1845 that it became the 27th state. Florida currently has a total of 67 counties. The last county was introduced in 1925 which is Gilchrist County which was named after Florida’s governor Albert W. Gilchrist who served from 1909 to 1913. Florida counties are subdivisions of the state government. All of Florida’s counties are incorporated
Issue that in my opinion would affect the evaluation of a domestic violence program would be lack of information on the victim and abuser. Another affect on evaluation would be is there a data base on domestic violence crime. Is the data assessable, is there a statistic rate what is the ratio of women, men, and children been victim of domestic violence. Other issue that could affect the planning of domestic violence is the long term affect of being a victim of domestic violence. According to (N.D), "[The long term effects of domestic violence have not begun to be fully documented. Battered women suffer physical and mental problems as a result of domestic violence. Battering is the single major cause of injury to women, more significant that auto accidents, rapes, or muggings. In fact, the emotional and psychological abuse inflicted by batterers may be more costly to treat in the short-run than physical injury. Many of the physical injuries sustained by women seem to cause medical difficulties as women grow older. Arthritis, hypertension and heart disease have been identified by battered women as directly caused or aggravated by domestic violence suffered early in their adult lives.
Florida can be a beautiful place to live, work, and play and from the outside looking in, it looks like the perfect place to raise a family. The state of the economy in Florida is far from perfect and many of the middle to lower income families that often relocate to Florida hoping for a better life, often struggle to maintain a place to live and a decent wage. Florida residents are struggling to maintain a basic standard of living with the housing market and low wages in this state. Often news reports suggest that the economy is getting better in Florida, but many households are struggling. The State of Florida is not as economically stable as politicians and real estate developers would like for the general public to believe.

Therefore, this therapy can be used to help families with schizophrenic members, violent temperaments, uncontrolled substance or alcohol abuse, chronic problems (that affect all members), and those who want to improve relationship skills. Its goal is to build a supportive collaboration between counselor and the family and teaches skill-building techniques to help families gain control over their circumstances. Strength and resiliency are taught to families dealing with chronic problems (Goldenberg & Goldenberg, 2013, p.415). Psychoeducation does follow some of the techniques used by traditional treatments, such as cooperating with the family, acquiring the trust of its members, remaining unbiased, and figuring out the best methods to have positive conclusions. In summary, the program helps families learn problem-solving approaches that will help them have prosperous marital or parent-child relationships (Goldenberg & Goldenberg, 2013, p.416).
Therapy is often said to be just as much of an art as it is a science. Namely because there is so much that goes into it. To create a successful therapeutic relationship, there are some key elements that need to be a part of the formula. Each therapist may end up having a different recipe, but it is important that a therapist knows what ingredients he or she may need and what they can add for it to be successful. Throughout this paper, this writer will discuss characteristics she hopes to embody as a therapist, as well as the values and skills she wishes to bring with her into a therapeutic relationship.
The program that this student has designed and will test will not be in a “corporate” type building, it will be conducted within a classroom inside of a public school. This program will be centered on the idea in which both teachers and school administrators come together in helping to truly create a better future through their students, our future. In this classroom volunteers, teachers and therapists will meet to discuss the performance of children in that school. These volunteers would also help collect food and distribute this food to the children in need and their families. This classroom would be the base for educating both teachers and school administrators about healthy boundary crossings, such as when is it appropriate
