One by one they entered the once busy restaurant filled with laughter and love was now filled with the sounds of the flashes of cameras from forensic photographers as they circled her. I watched amongst the shadows staring at her cold corpse, with each passing minute her face seemed to get less lively with the rose pink hue in her cheeks fading away. To these people, she was just another victim but to me, she was my best friend, my sister. I look around for Marco, he was speaking to the forensic analyst, his head down to hide his grief.
“Hi Marco, is it?” the coroner had approached him.
Yes, by the sound of his voice you could tell he was on the verge of tears.
“I’m so sorry about your loss. I can’t understand how much pain you would be going through especially on the night of your anniversary.
28th of May. The day Zara had married the man of her dreams. They had been childhood sweethearts from the start. His family had been very poor but Zara didn’t care about materialistic things like wealth or fortune her heart was so pure she would love anyone. When Marco had asked for her hand, mum and dad were not impressed. They did not think much of Marco and did not believe he would be able to keep her happy but he always managed to. He loved her dearly and she loved him. That night would have been their 25th anniversary. What had happened that night was tragic but I was determined to find out who had done this and why.

I ran up the pavement, never once looking back at Phil. I didn’t even want to consider thinking about how red I was. Why did I blush so much? I finally arrived at the porch and clambered up the steps. I shut the door behind me breathlessly. I dropped my bag and slid to the ground, still using the door as support. My heartbeat was all I could hear, thrumming quickly and filling my ears.

Craig shifted in his seat; the wooden chair was so uncomfortable. He was in a corridor, lined with identical chairs occupied by more young men of about his age. The corridor smelled like polish and floor cleaner, and was painted a dull grey and cream. A few feet away stood a tough looking soldier, immaculately dressed in a dark green uniform and carrying a large wooden cane. Every few minutes a light bulb hanging above a doorway would flash, a buzzer would sound and the soldier jabbed the man sitting closest to him with his cane.

I woke up to the sound of a heart monitor keeping a steady beat and the back of my neck burning up. Was I in a hospital? Opening my eyes, I quickly shut them again. “Ugh” I grunted closing them tight as my head pounded with pain.
Kate whipped her head around to see who the owner of that voice was. She felt relief and joy when she saw it was Mr. Jacks who followed her. Maybe he will escape with her. Mr. Jacks stood less than 10 feet away and his dog sat by his feet, his tail wagging.
Shaking, I stand up, trying to steady my body and my mind. I make my way across the lot back onto the street. I start towards my house once again.
The top of the Notre Dame bell tower was chilly now, the sun had disappeared beyond the horizon hours ago. Madeline gazed out at the city, enjoying the stillness. Paris was quiet tonight, a rare occurrence in a huge city like this. She sighed, leaning against the cool stone. This night reminded her of the one several months ago when she had seen Gabe for the first time. Little had she known then that she had just met the love of her life. Monique had been right all along.
After waiting more than an hour in the parking lot for Marlene to arrive, Katherine was ready to go home when she saw the old familiar Malibu pull into the parking lot, and rushed behind the building so her daughter wouldn’t see her. Peeking around the corner, Katherine watched Marlene get out of the car, go to the driver’s side and kissed him passionately, before waltzing across the doctor’s parking lot swinging her keys. Katherine watched as her the raven-haired beauty with a reputation for being high maintenance get in the red Mercedes and drive out of the parking lot.
