A Short Story : Chapter 4

“I can take your information and he’ll get back to you at his earliest convenience.” She did and left. Halfway down the street, Lena saw Hunter exiting a coffee shop; she called out to him and jogged over to him. “The couple,” she blurted. “There downtown as we speak.” After she’d gotten him up to speed, Sloane discarded his coffee. “Come with me.” Lena and her daughter went along for the ride in his patrol car and drove to the shopping district a few miles away.

I looked on as Del Packard struggled with the police about getting into the car. The people who had gathered around to watch the action asked about what had occurred and how I managed to figure it out. I repeated the story of the murder out loud as I had practiced multiple times before in my head. Del was worried about Rich removing him from his will taking with it the only life he knew and treasured. He figured the only way to fix the problem was to kill. (People nowadays!) Anyway, he had been learning and mastering the skill of mind control and decided to test it out on a fellow who would be the least likely to be suspected. Dee! During this time, a meeting had been occurring between Hugh, Justin, and Dee. Dee needed help to debug the system but what Justin planned was to steal the whole program. Justin went to talk to Rita at the same time that Dee took a ‘bathroom break’. She made sure that H.T. was preoccupied and put on gloves to leave no trace behind. Mind you, she was being manipulated by Del the whole time. Before the murder, Rita had drugged Rich so that Justin was able to steal the program. Her reason for betrayal was because he had been the one to break it off, leaving her the one with hurt feelings. I guess that never settles well with ferocious sirens like her. Dee came in soon after Rita and finished up the job by strangling Rich with a mouse cord and punching the daylight out of him. She drops the gloves underneath Hugh’s bed and returns to the meeting. It continues until everyone has returned to their places. Dee, having lost all memory of her actions goes to ask a question from Rich. She screams and everyone runs over. And that’s where my story begins. It was quite hard to piece together the parts but when it is done, it is refreshing! So when are those reporters going to show

On the next Saturday Delia was riding through town delivering and picking up clothes as usual as a few of the local townsmen share their insight into the Jones' home. After concluding that Sykes and his "stray woman," Bertha, should be severely disciplined for their actions, they push money forth to share a watermelon. At that moment, Sykes and Bertha arrive, and a silence falls on the porch and the melon is put away. Delia drives by as Sykes is "ordering magnificently for Bertha," but Sykes has no reason to hide his infidelity, for it "pleased him for Delia to see." As the two leave the store, Sykes reminds Bertha "this was his town and she could have it if she wanted it." The men on the porch resume their melon feast at Sykes and Bertha's departure, and they continue their expression of low opinion of Sykes.

When Delores arrives at the convent, she is appalled that she must go undercover as a nun. She grew up in a Catholic school, and had horrendous experiences with the nun teacher and, therefore, was not looking forward to her temporary life. She begins her nunnery being vastly disobedient and flamboyant, too much for the strict Mother Superior. Eventually Delores is forced to join the struggling choir as a disciplinary measure, and ends up finding her place among the nuns. Delores, renamed Sister Mary Clarence, dedicates her time at the convent to improving the choir far beyond expectations. The convent and mass service improve tremendously, filling up the pews with large congregations. Sister Mary becomes exceedingly popular in the eyes of the nuns and surrounding community. Eventually, Vince finds her hiding place among the nuns and rushes

“No, this is a personal trip. Though it wasn’t me who blew up your precious police station.”

"Whoa now wait a minute. You killed your husband and his girlfriend then fled to Arkansas?"

Delphine LaLaurie was born into a wealthy family, who were embedded into the local community. Her father, an Irish immigrant, settled in New Orleans during the French Colonial Period. Delphine was a beautiful woman in her youth and had no troubling finding a husband, she found three in fact. Her husband's consisted of many different backgrounds: a Spanish royal officer, an important local banker, and the physician, Louis LaLaurie (Rushing). Although Delphine was raised in the slavery tradition, she was never suspected of mistreating slaves until her marriage to Louis. Delphine was allowed to own a business, manage her own wealth, and even attend to her own affairs (Bass). No one knew that these “affairs” included torturing slaves.

“Have you been able to get in contact with him?” Bender asked, but I just shook my head.

“Hello, my name is Jessie Hamasaki. I guess you can call me back anytime at this number. Thank you I hope to be hearing from you soon.” She hung up the phone, with a strange look on her face. With that she put her phone down on the nightstand and laid down for a little while longer.

“You told him you had some information to share. You wouldn’t give it to him, so I’m here.”

In mid-December, during the celebration of her 10th anniversary with her husband Theo, Mrs. James got call from her department asking her if she could come in to work because they needed her help. When Mrs. James got the news she softly spoke, “Honey I’m so sorry, but they need me to come in to work.” Mr. James looks at her with an understanding smirk and kissed her on the cheek and said “See you when you get home. Be safe!” as she rushed out the door. When she got inside of the car , she turns the key in the ignition. A call came up on the screen saying “Homicide on 403 Pembroke Rd." She turns on her sirens and rushes off to the location. When Detective James arrived she saw a 3 story mansion on a hill owned. She read a sign nearby "Property

“Loren,” she called as she spun on her heel and headed into the hallway, “Find me a crucifix!”

Lexi ran out of the Tap House with a flourish. She was so upset that there were already tears streaming down her face. It wasn’t fair that even though she knew Logan was a monster there was still a part of her that wanted to fuck his brains out. It wasn’t fair that he had this control over her and her feelings. It wasn’t fair that he got to play with her emotions by bringing his girlfriend and flaunting her around.

“Mom!” Emily shrieked, panic filling her mind. She sprinted down the stairs to the basement, not bothering to wait for her little brother. Behind her, she heard Navin running after her, yelling at her to wait for him. She waved at him dismissively, knowing that she didn’t have any time to stop. Navin would just have to catch up to her.

Delia lives in California with her mom. Her mom is an environmentalist and sets out to Antarctica to make experiments. One day when Delia comes home from school, her mom’s boss is there to tell Delia that her mom is dead. She does not believe him but everybody, including her maid, does. Since her dad is dead and supposedly her mom is too, Delia is sent of to New York to live with two aunts she never meet. Once there Delia gets to meet her to aunts. Charlie, with whom Delia lives with, is older but has a child’s mind. Province is serious and in charge of Delia’s education. The aunts hate each other but Delia prefers Charlie. Since Province is in charge of Delia’s education, she sends her to a good private school. In school, Delia meets Natalie
