Alone one dark Friday winter night, Alley was sleeping soundly cozy under her bright pink comforter. Her single mother, Isabella, had left that morning out of town for a work meeting. Alley’s father had died a few years ago from a mysterious murder. Suddenly she got out of bed and shivered to the door to see what was making this weird noise. Alley opened the door and stepped onto the back porch, looking into the dark night. Listening to the sound of the wind howling and the sound of the harmless crickets chirping. But, nothing and no one was there…
Alley walked around her house to see if anything or anyone was there. She walked around the whole perimeter and saw nothing until she got back to the porch. Gazing up at her two story house, her bedroom window covers lay wide open. Inside, she saw a lady figure in black, standing in bedroom peering at Alley. Alley’s heart instantly stopped, she was home alone while her mother was sleeping in her hotel room. She ran into the house, all the way up the stairs, and into her dark empty room. “Hello”, she said waiting for a response hoping it was her mother back early. “Where had the lady I saw gone?”, thought Alley as she stood there in her room.
Out of nowhere, she heard a loud noise. The sound had came from her deceased father’s bedroom. Alley reluctantly walked towards the room, praying her cold feet on the tile floor doesn’t make noise. She had always believed that ghosts weren’t real. “Only in movies”, she kept whispering to
The mouldy, rotting, brown house stood in front of Emily, only fear keeping her feet planted to the ground. Moaning and creaking noises being projected from the house. The grass was damp from the evening fog and every time she took a step the mud squelched. The bottom step squeaked as she applied pressure with her foot, she let out a sigh of relief as the old structure hadn’t swallowed her up. The door, slightly off colour from the rest of the house, loomed over her like a giant as he reached for the brass door handle. A shiver ran through her body like an electric current, the musty smell of a house that had been long abandoned filled Emily’s nose. It was dim and uninviting. The furniture dusty and old, looking as if it would crumble to dust if she was to touch it. Mould ate away at
Outside, a deep silence fell over the neighborhood. This silence crept into every household. Members of the community had a guise of anger and pain expressed on their faces. Everyone locked themselves inside, to lament such a tragedy that has brought sorrow to a twelve years old’s family. Parents fell on their knees with tears in their eyes. This last murder represented the final straw. So many of their own had been murdered by the malicious, metallic, monsters that were supposed to be the defenders of their community. They felt insecure, threatened by the
From somewhere in the stillness, she felt a soft breeze on her neck and heard a faint whisper in her ear “Lacey....” A trickle of fear ran down her spine as she gave a furtive glance around the room. She was alone, wasn’t she? Were there vagrants in the area? Afraid and needing to hear a human voice, she called out, “Hello? Is anyone here?”
Although secure in her makeshift safe house, she was by no means sheltered from the insidious scratching. The scratching was joined with another sound, one not so alarming in tone. It was a baby’s sob, sounding so hurt and in need. All of these things pounded in the girl's mind. What if it was her baby doll? Her baby needed her. She couldn’t reject her little helpless baby.
After a few more minutes of waiting Anna decided to get out of bed and walk down to the food court to see if her father was there. After getting out of bed, Anna found a note taped to her father’s chair that she hadn’t seen before scripted in scribbly letters saying Based on your actions he might come back don’t tell anyone about this and he will come back unharmed. Anna hurriedly found the bag of her clothes that her mother had delivered overnight and pulled on a hot pink mini skirt and a white long sleeve crop top. After getting dressed Anna opened her door and stepped outside, there was no one anywhere to be seen. She continued to walk down the hall and there was still no noise and no one in sight. She walked straight to the elevator and went down to the first floor where the food court should be, but there was no one there either, the hospital had been abandoned and she was sure that the songbook and the object that played her melody the night before were somehow behind it all. She ran back up to her room as carefully as she could trying not to hurt her arm, and once she arrived at the door she grabbed the music book off the desk beside of her bed, tried to flush it down the toilet, and stuffed her cell phone in her bag of clothes that her mom had bought. She was about to pick up her bag when she heard a new melody right outside of her door. La, La, La, La, La, La. La, La, La, La, La. La, La, La, La, La. La, La, La, La, La, La, La. She wanted to see what was making the noise so she carefully opened her door and peeked through the opened crack. There nothing was there! She grabbed her bag of clothes and ran down the steps as quickly as she could but then she heard a voice behind her, “Aaaaannnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaa!!!!” the voice moaned “Aaaaannnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaa it isn’t safe at your house!!!!” said the voice. She spun around and saw a scrawny old man
She sat in the chair, taking her hands through her hair, stressed about her new book coming but has had no desire to continue. She looks at the last chapter written days ago thinking of ways to continue the story. She starts writing but continually marks out and starts again. She groans in frustration, laying her head down on the cool glass table. While being in her own world, she hears a quiet tapping coming from her door, assuming it’s the maid she politely tells them that she’s good. The tapping continues and she gets up heading towards the door; opening the door she sees no one, looking leaving the room and waking down the hallway looking around seeing nothing. As she heads back into the room, she sees the papers for her new book all spread out on the table. Knowing someone wasn’t in her room at the time, she makes herself think it’s the nearby draft from the window beside
She stood there, a tall, thin steal gray fluffy haired figure on the top step for a second. And then looked down at the fair-haired children and smiled widely revealing a large gap between her two front teeth. She laughed cheerfully and declared, "Pay no mind to her. She's not so bad once you get to know her." Anna wondered about that. She seemed as if she were pretty good at being furious. "Come on, follow me." The lady said as she opened the door and allowed them to pass, "My name's Miss Margot. Now come along, there's no time to dawdle." She said in her sing-song voice and led them down a long, dark, narrow hallway that was lined with solid wood paneling. As we walked, she tugged at their arms to quicken their pace. Eventually she stopped and pressed on a spot in one of the boards and a door popped open. She and the children hurried into the cold, damp lopsided little basement storage area that was filled with spider webs and smelt dank. Once inside the room Anna noticed that a single light bulb on a long cord swayed from the ceiling and an old broken folding chair and a chamber pot leaned against one of the walls. And that in the back of the room there was a tiny, grimy window that permitted a sliver of evening moonlight to pass through. "That's yours." Miss Margot said and pointed her
Dalton took the bat and sat down on his uncomfortable, worn out, brown leather couch. He stared blankly at the black television screen waiting, he was waiting for the unknown, he was waiting for the being that was on the other side of the wall. Thoughts floated through his mind all night. “When is he going to come?” “Why didn’t he come yet?” “What happened to Linda?”. When morning finally came he tried to call sick to work but it didn’t ring once and decided to take a look at Linda’s house and when he was leaving his house he noticed something weird. He wasn’t in his apartment building any more. His apartment looked like it had been taken out of the building and put into the field behind where his apartment used to be. Out of nowhere he heard strange noises he looked around and saw nothing, until out of the corner of his eye he saw something, something that didn’t belong and it saw him. He started to run. He saw a patch of trees, he ran towards it. He ran through the trees for an hour, he started hearing cars in the distance so he knew he was close to
We Entered the Fully furnished antique home avoiding the broken glass pieces stuck around the perimeter of the window. The wallpaper was peeling and the furniture was eaten up by mice and rats. We walk around the room for five minutes silent until Grayson breaks the silence of course saying “Woah creepy” pointing at the large family portrait with each face smudged out with black ink. “Well let's look around then just leave” I say with Aleisha backing me up. “Nah nah” Grayson alluded in perfect harmony with my brother adding “Leigh Settle its just a house an old house”. “The Pattison Murder house where like everyone in the family was apparently killed by the son” Aleisha interjected. “Key word there, apparently” Grayson laughed rolling his eyes.I let out a slight sigh as I walked down the Hall with Aleisha. The Floors creaked and parts of the ceiling were smothered with Black
The dark, cloudy night approached covering the town of Kingsville. The young girl, Kyara, coming out of the library after finishing packets of homework, stood outside the parking lot waiting for the arrival of her parents. It was midnight and her parents are taking longer than usual. Kyara looked around to see if anyone seemed to be present and she felt a presence of something to be nonexistent. The presence felt stronger and stronger each minute that passed and Kyara became to feel uncomfortable. The wind blew and made a whistle which made her get chills. All of a sudden she heard a voice far away. She turned to see and became surprised of such sight.
I started off by looking for her in the barn. I opened the crackling, brown door. First thing I saw was my father’s ancient brown horse, looking at me as if I could’ve killed somebody. It was quiet as death. I didn’t think I can bear walking deeper into the barn, but I knew there was no turning back. The animals were now awake and befuddled. It seemed like they knew something I didn’t. All of the sudden I hear Martha, my pink pig, squealing as loud as a horn. I jetted across the barn in suspense, worrying if someone had hurt Martha. Right then and there I saw mother clustering and sobbing in the corner. She was terrified. I slowly kneeled down to help her get up. Before I had a chance to say anything, she clutched her hand into a fist and it went straight across my face. I couldn’t see clearly. It was as if I got stabbed in the back by a dagger. Before I knew it, she was gone, again.
Her eyes struggled to stay open, slowly blinking but never closing. Droplets from the clouds rolled down the windowpane, like copycats of those running down her face. The night was dark with shadows. The only sounds in the house were the plump raindrops falling on the windowsill, the clinking of beer bottles and the sound of her nervous breath. She had to stay awake for she had left the moment he had passed out on the dusty couch in the living room. Her sweaty palms clutched the leather straps of her bag. Her body shook like a small dog’s and the wind made the trees sway like the ghosts of everything she’d ever known. The sound finally came and so did the closing of her bedroom door.
Earlier on Mrs. Chipley brung me to breakfast and then we started driving. Now we are arriving at my Aunt Sarah’s house. As we get out of the car I stare at the house with a terrified look. As I walk up the broken stone stairs then I ring the doorbell with a sense of fear.
One night Kaylee’s parents were out with friends as she tried to sleep she could swear she heard movement down in the basement Kaylee being scared thinking it might be an intruder went to go investigate. Before going into the basement Kaylee tried to contact her parents, while trying to contact her parents for some odd reason her calls wouldn’t go through, she soon decided that should would have to check the mysterious sounds that would soon become a
The floorboard in the hallway creaked again. Emma flew off the bed and dashed for cover behind the silk dressing screen. Her heart pounded. Sweat trickled down the side of her face. Trembling, she peeked around the edge of the screen and watched as a tall figure entered the room. When he stepped into the light of the fireplace, her hand flew to her mouth to silence the gasp. It could not be him. He would never poison her mother. Would
