Honor is the pride and respect of veterans who served their country and kept it safe. How one person thanks the veterans is different from another. However, honor and morals sometimes get confused during the time of war. The Navy sometimes names their ships after war heroes for their actions and bravery. However, shouldn’t the military do that for all veterans alive or dead? Some veterans don’t even get the honor and respect they earned for serving their country. When Veteran’s Day became an official holiday in the United States, Americans honored them by giving out discounts or free items for that day. Many restaurants such as Applebee’s and Olive Garden give discounts or free food to veterans as a thank you to them for their service. Some veterans wear their uniforms when going out on this day. Some places have parades for the veterans in honor of them. Memorial Day and Independence Day in some Americans eyes can be considered a time to honor veterans as well. On Independence Day most Americans wear red, white and blue and shoot off fireworks and play music not only to celebrate America’s birthday, but to honor all the men and women who died in battle as well as honor the ones that are alive. Some veterans have reunions after the time they served with the people who was with them during that time. Anywhere a reunion is being held like, the beach or in a major city like Boston or Jacksonville, etc. Hotels will give big discounts for the time they served and they respect
America gave my generation Freedom and the right to vote. My generation should respect the veterans more and we should be thankful for our freedom. My generation should respect the veterans more because the fought for the rights we have today we should be thankful, we should not take granit for it. Another thing is that they fought and they lost their brother and they fought on even though they were mourning on their loss. The last thing is why should you disrespect your veterans without them we would not have the rights we have today.
Honoring those that have served our country has been a long-standing tradition in one of the countries with the best militaries in the world. We even have an annual holiday celebrating those who have served where an entire day is dedicated to veterans in our country. But the question is often asked as to why we honor these veterans with their own day, and why they are treated with the utmost respect year round. I believe the answer varies from person to person, but the answer is clear to me.
Those who are veterans are those who fought in the wars and those who leaded the troops. Today we honor those who are no longer with us and those who are. We honor them because they fought and saved us from rivalries that were careless about us but our veterans stood up for us until we were safe. If you read history books about the american war you might’ve found that some men were under a lot of stress while training. But the thing that makes them special is they were the brave ones, some men didn’t meet the standards required but some men started training lifting those weights to meet those standards and try again. There are wise and caring people in the world and some times you may have to look for them because they are out
As a nation, we need to be thankful for our veterans. The men and women who join the military undergo nine weeks, or more, of boot camp. That right there is said to be the most laborious nine weeks of anyone’s life. Drill sergeants break them down both emotionally and physically, so they can improve upon them and make them stronger. Those are the people we should be thanking, the ones who fight to preserve our country’s freedom, equality, and the pursuit of happiness. Those are the fundamentals of our Constitution that those people fight to protect. However, after their service, it doesn’t seem like people know that.
Saying “The Pledge of Allegiance” and singing “The Star Spangled Banner” makes me feel so proud to live here. Listening to veterans tell stories about wars is so interesting. You wonder how they survived and how some are still willing to go out and fight. When you see a veteran, you realize that this is your home. These veterans have given me a life most people would love to have. These veterans stood up for what they believed in. I will never meet all of them, but I will never be able to express how thankful I am. These veterans are people we pass every day, they don’t expect a thank you. We lose about 1,000 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans everyday. They should be thanked a lot
Veterans sacrificed their lives for us. A lot of those soldiers never thought they would have to actually go out and hurt someone. Throughout the battle a lot of people were really bad hurt and a lot did not make it. A lot gave there arms, and legs for us. They didn’t run away they stood their ground and gave their lives for us. The ones that got hurt or had scars will be the ones you can tell that never ran. Those are the ones that mabey saw others run, but stayed with tears but keep going. For these reasons, we should always be respectful and be glad they did it for us.
It is important to remember how much of daily life is affected by the work of veterans. Walking on streets, going to school, eating at restaurants, and hanging out with friends all depend on the service of veterans. They may not receive the proper amount of recognition from the younger generations, but their work is appreciated. In actuality, they gained vital information that can be shared with the future generations. They have gained respect and honor for their duty for our
People often say that freedom is not free and that price has been paid by countless brave individuals. These brave individuals are known as veterans. Veterans should be remembered, respected and honored because of their sacrifices, courage, and patriotism.
If you are having a large party, you might want to consider renting out a banquet hall at a hotel. This will prevent the need for you feeling like you need to clean every square inch of your home. It will also provide enough space for guests. If you want, you can even rent out some rooms for a relaxing night. If you do go this route, be sure to ask your local hotels about military reunion discounts. Oftentimes, hotels will offer discounted rates for those in the military.
All military veterans make sacrifices, and fight courageously for our freedom. They protect our beloved county from disastrous peril. Veterans are one of the only reasons that we are safe, allowed to do what we want, and have free agency. They deserve to be honored and respected as amazing people who put aside everything for the country’s needs.
I will be writing about what a veteran means to me. Veterans mean a lot to me so I will be explaining why veterans mean a lot to me and some other things that makes veterans important to me. Veterans do a lot for the people of the US but they do not
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude and the veterans deserve to have gratitude from others. The reason why I am grateful for our nation’s veterans is because without them we would not have peace and freedom in our country. Another reason why I am grateful for our nation’s veterans is because they have fought for us to have a good society instead of a corrupted one. After the veterans return from war they don’t change on how the treat people and not expect anything in return and that is why I am grateful. The nation’s veterans deserve to be celebrated and commemorated for their efforts and sacrifices.
Well to begin, Veterans Day is a day to celebrate all the strong and brave U.S. veterans and victims of the World War 1, who have risked their lives for our freedom and safety today. Now on November 11, we as americans publicly celebrate this holiday on the anniversary of the end of the war. It is a time to ponder and really think about how far we have came in American History, and how much we have accomplished in a world filled with so much hate and crime. Instead of war, we fight for world peace and kindness to be spread. Though we are constantly at war with other countries, without our courageous soldiers and our fearless veterans, this country would be a different place to live in. A more cruel, unsafe, and terrifying place.
Veterans Day is celebrated for a purpose. To honor all those who have fought in the armed force, dead or alive to help protect this country. We should give our respect and honor
On holidays, we honor the great people who served our country, by hanging our flags in a memorial to them, a symbol of those who have passed.
