Individuals throughout the world have different aspects towards abortion. Some may argue that abortion should be outlawed and treated like the murder of a human being while others believe abortion should remain a legal choice to all women. The ones who are for abortion have argued that women have a moral right to decide what to do with their own bodies. On the other hand, the ones against abortion like myself have argued that the fetus is a human being from the moment of conception. Therefore, abortion is the moral killing of an innocent human being. Having an abortion is never the solution for unwanted pregnancies because it is not the fault of the innocent unborn child. Women put themselves at risk since abortion brings medical complications later on in life. The moral killing of a human being should overturn the decision made by the Supreme Court in the Roe v. Wade, whom created a law in which women had the right to abort a child at anytime even if it past the point of viability. Not only is an abortion the killing of a human being, but also it defies the word of God. Abortion is not the solution for unwanted pregnancies because it can cause medical complications, defies the word of God, and is the immoral killing of an innocent human being. Fetus is a human being from the moment of conception making abortion the immoral killing of an innocent human being. Many have argued that no one knows when life begins. However, science has informed and provides evidence that
Abortion has been one of the most popular and argumentative topics that has still yet to be settled. Ultimately the question we can ask when trying to solve this issue is whether or not pregnant women should have the right to kill an unborn baby. Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth takes place and is a moral wrong. Can we as a society call ourselves human if we allow the deaths of unborn babies to take place? Those who take the side of pro-choice or as also known as pro-abortion often use statements concerning life, humanity, human rights and freedom to support their claims. I believe abortion should be illegal because we as a society must protect the human lives that are in danger whether or not they are in their first
Abortion is a very touchy subject in our society. In the U.S. it is legal to abort a fetus up until the twenty fourth week. An abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth, which results in the death of an embryo or a fetus. Many people consider abortion as cruel as murder. Although some say abortion is in there own hands and is there own decision, others believe that no one but God has the right to take someone else 's life. People that support abortion do not consider an unborn fetus a person who must be protected under the law. Which makes an issue like abortion, difficult in determining if it is right or wrong in someone 's opinion.
Abortion has taken the lives of more than 50 million babies since 1973 (“About Abortion”). The issue of abortion is one of the most common controversial issues in American politics and culture. In modern society, many women that have an unintended pregnancy and they result to abortion without researching other options. Abortion is not a substitute for birth control and this issue should be taken seriously. The individual woman needs to understand that by agreeing to have an abortion she is agreeing to kill an innocent fetus. Abortion rips the unborn child from his or hers right to life. Society needs to let women see through the eyes of the fetus and find alternative ways to raise the baby. Abortion should be
There are so many different views in opinions when it comes to the topic of abortion. There is the religious point that it is wrong to have an abortion because of the ten commandment that states “Thou shall not kill.” All have heard this one whether atheist or religious. People’s right to choose abortion or not has been questioned for many years, as congress officials have tried on many occasions to illegalize this right. Then there is the other side of this opinion where so many feel it is the woman’s right to choose to have an abortion. A lot of people see this as a
For recent years, people start to deny abortion and stated it as cruel and murder. While it does involve remove fetus or embryo from the mother and kill the baby before it was born, it might not be the worst thing that can happen to the baby. Most people who chose abortion is either can’t afford to have a kid or unable to take care of them. It was one of the case, while other concern about their right as a person. Some might say the baby have right to live, while others believe the mother have right for herself to do what she want to her body. The debate on abortion is not about who right, but it about the consequences of their action.
Thousands of women in the world have abortions. “ Since the 1970’s, abortion has been a very controversial issue throughout the United States. Anti-Abortion and pro choice organizations often express their differences of opinion in lawful demonstrations” (Andryszewski 10).Think of it this way, all of the fetuses are in life or death situations. Their mother is choosing whether or not she wants to keep them or abort them. The children that are getting aborted will never get the chance to live. The children that are aborted will never get a choice. They will never get to go through all of the good, and even the bad, times of life. Life is a blessing, and everyone should get the chance to live their life. Women who just don’t want a child, or even women who have been raped, are wanting abortions all throughout America. Whatever the reason for the abortion, the pregnant woman should not have the choice of taking a life that they created. There are reasons and other options why women should not get abortions. Abortions should be illegal because these women are murdering a child that is unborn, it could be harmful to women, and if not always, then almost always, women have the choice of adoption.
The case of Roe vs. Wade made the option of abortions legal to women across the nation. The struggle still remains on the moral ethics behind it. Is abortion the murder of an unborn child? Many argue that the rights of the mother exceed the rights of the fetus, and that while the fetus is a living organism it does not constitute for a human being. With these aspects in mind the concept of abortion is justifiable.
Abortion has become a serious topic in American culture today. If you were to ask someone on their street whether they were Pro-Life or Pro-Choice odds are they would know exactly what you were talking about and then be able to give a clear statement of their opinion on the matter. This issue has provoked many strong opinions in people around the country, so much so that the act of abortion has been petitioned to become an illegal procedure. There are many reasons to support abortion along with hate it, but when it all comes down to it the real issue is not in regards to science but rather to morals. Abortion is morally wrong and should be illegal.
A lot of people consider abortion a form of murder because they consider the fetus to be a human being. It is because of this that they would never get an abortion and they would get mad at others who did. People consider babies a gift from God and even unplanned pregnancies are seen as God’s gift to the parents. People who are against abortion state other humans are in no position to play God and that we have no right to choose who lives and who dies. Some reasons that pregnant women consider not having an abortion are because the chances of getting pregnant afterwards decline and because of the emotional pain that is felt with the loss of a mother’s child. It is a very tragic event in a woman’s life and its something that can’t be reversed or taken back. People who are against abortion argue that
Abortion is a debatable question that has been argued over a long period of time. The controversy of abortion has caused or may cause deaths and several violent conflicts between, should abortion be legal or illegal. Abortion is one of the most common medical procedures performed worldwide also known as elective termination of pregnancy (History,2016). Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mother’s womb. This procedure can be done almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley, most common, abortion clinics. More than 40% of all women will end a pregnancy by abortion and remains common in the US. But the questions is should abortion be legal or illegal?
Just because abortion is legal in all fifty states it is not morally right because a fetus is technically still a person, killing is against the law, and it goes against God’s will for us to have the right to live. In 1973, the Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade changed the course of American history. The outcome of this case made abortion, “the termination of a pregnancy resulting in the death of the fetus,” legal in all fifty states (Abortion Facts). Abortion has become one of the most controversial topics in our nation, and is becoming a substantial issue (Sproul 47). Every abortion takes the life of a child, the most innocent of human beings. Not only does an abortion kill the fetus, but the procedure itself is very gruesome and can cause pain to the child or the mother (Abortion facts). On average, there are around 700,000 abortions per year in the United
Abortion is one of the most controversial subjects that has been continually argued over for many years all over the world that poses the questions death or life. Abortion discusses one’s interaction where ethics, emotions, medical, and law come into place. According to the Webster Dictionary abortion is the loss of the fetus or unborn child before it can live outside the womb. The killing a human life is a contradiction to the norms of society, from a biblical point of view, one will believe that abortion is wrong because it is a sin that is stated in Exodus 20:13, the sixth commandment of the law of God "Thou shall not kill", and such an act should be outright illegal. Although abortion may seem to be the only correct solution for an unwanted pregnancy, it is cruel, unethical, and presents a double-standard for society; therefore, it should be considered illegal except under some special cases and medical circumstances that indicate a danger to the mother and child.
A couple years ago, I had a high school friend who was on her way to graduate, but then she made a wrong turn in life. She went to a party with her boyfriend, who got her intoxicated and unaware of her surroundings. Weeks passed and something was wrong with her. She went to the doctor and told the doctor, she was having extreme tiredness, headaches, heartburn and needed to urinate more often. The doctor told her to take a pregnancy test and next thing you know, she was pregnant. Following her appointment, she calls me to tell me she is pregnant and wants an abortion. I told her that there is no way she is getting an abortion because there are other better alternatives. She wanted an abortion because she wanted to go to college and become a nurse and with that baby, she would be able to focus on college. Abortion is a misconduct that goes unspoken, in fact abortion is a slaughter of unknowing helpless pre-born children. Abortion is merely immoral. Everyone has been taught right from wrong; manslaughter is wrong and so is abortion, because abortion is a murderous act.
“A living human person begins to exist at the moment of conception, even though only as a cell.” The road to human life may begin at conception, but to call abortion murder is ludicrous and a large exaggeration. Murder is described as the killing of a human being, and an unborn fetus should not be considered a living human being. A fetus is a group of cells that are completely dependent on its mother that cannot live on its own, therefore it should not be considered a human. One of the most popular arguments on the topic of abortion was the supreme court case Roe V. Wade. This case was about a pregnant single women (Roe) challenging the constitutionality of Texas abortion laws. The winning argument in the case Roe v. Wade, states that the “word ‘person’ as used in the Fourteenth Amendment does not include the unborn,” putting this argument to
“There are nearly 1.2 million abortions performed in the United States each year” (Operation Rescue, 2014). That was 1.2 million innocent lives that were ended before they even had a chance to begin. Abortion has been legal for decades now, and it is time to put a stop to all the murdering of unborn children. This senseless killing of an unborn child needs to be recognized for what it truly is, and that is legalized murder. Abortions should be made illegal in the United States because it is taking the life of an innocent person, there are other options out there and lastly abortions are not only harming the unborn child but also cause harm to the mother.
