I believe that William H. Pryor said it best when he said, “I believe that abortion is the taking of human life.” I am totally against abortion, in my opinion abortion is the same as murder. The only abortion that I am not against is if it is a medical descion for the mother and the doctor advise the abortion as the only way of saving her life. Like Michael Baumgartner said, “ I would, if checking boxes in a questionnaire, say I would oppose abortion except when the life of the mother is in danger.” There are so many other options out there other than abortion, such as adoption, co-parenting, single parent, placing guardianship to a family memember friend or using a type of contraceptive. Weigh out the option before leaping into abortion.
I believe that when a woman or man, cannot lay blame all on the woman, lay down and engage in sexual activities without using any type of contraception they are being very irresponsible. Kathleen Hanna said, “In 1985, I was living with my sister in Virginia, and since I was still in high school, I worked at McDonald's to save money to get an abortion. It sounds really terrible, but it was the best decision I ever made. It was the first time I took responsibility for my actions. I messed up, had sex without contraception, and got pregnant at 15.” I don’t believe that is taking responsibility for her actions, she knew there was a chance of creating life. Taking responsibility would have been giving birth and raising her baby.
Is a developing fetus a living human? Is a fetus not considered a human until the second trimester? Does poverty, rape and disability justify an abortion? Is the abortion dilemma truly black and white? Abortion is one of the most common medical procedures performed in the United States each year. Nearly one in four of all pregnancies end in abortion equalling 42% of all yearly deaths around the world. For pro-life supporters, they say that life begins at conception; the instant when a sperm cell unites with a egg cell. For pro-choice supporters, they say at birth, a baby is a living human. At conception, they know it is something but they don't consider it a human life. Since 1973, the number of abortions has spiked drastically from over 700,000
Abortion is defined as an early termination of a pregnancy, willingly. It is one of the most controversial issues that is brought up because there are so many different views. This ethical issue today is usually split in two groups, one of these views being pro-choice, giving the option to have an abortion to the family of the fetus. The other main view today is pro-life, which states under no circumstance may a life be taken away. There are many concerns with abortion, the biggest being is the fetus an actual person yet? Many of us will never know the answer to that question. Two views I will go deeper into is the view of Immanuel Kant and the view of a Utilitarian.
I believe that abortion, in certain circumstances, is all right. It all depends on the person and the reason why she may want to have an abortion. I think a woman should be able to have an abortion if she were raped and became pregnant. It would be understandable if she didn't want to have the baby. Another reason I thimk abortion is alright is when having the baby might be life threatening to the mother or if you know the baby was going to be born with severe
One of the most debated arguments in discussing abortion is the question of when life begins. It is an argument that is not entirely clear even through science as some people believe life begins at conception, fertilization of the egg, development of the fetus, or birth of a child. Determined separately by each state, the gestational limits set the number of weeks at which an abortion is no longer legal as the fetus would be viable outside of the womb. For most states in the US this is an average between twenty to twenty four weeks. Determined by the famous 1973 case of Roe vs. Wade, Justice Harry Blackmun concluded that the word “person” as used in the Fourteenth Amendment did not include the unborn, thus making abortion legal. This case is still relevant as abortion is still legal today within certain gestational limits which attempt to determine when life begins and when a fetus can begin to feel. Some argue that the states “held unborn children to be persons under the property, tort, and criminal law of the several states at the time Roe was decided,” and because of this, “the text of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment compels federal protection of unborn persons” (RODEN). Those who are in opposition to abortion have a goal to set gestational limits sooner than those in place now and to one day eliminate the option of abortion entirely. Organizations such as Planned Parenthood which offer access to abortion in addition to birth control and other
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. However many People agree to disagree on whether abortion is a legal or illegal matter. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy through removal of the embryo or fetus. I support abortion for the following reasons. Birth control failure, unable to support or care for a child, to prevent a child with birth defects or medical conditions, and a pregnancy in resulting from rape or incest. A woman should have the right to do what she pleases with her own body. For example, say a woman is pregnant with no desire of keeping the child and there was no clinic to help her remove the fetus. She’s most likely going to obtain matters into her own hands and figure a way to abort the fetus herself. Why put women in that situation when they have highly trained doctors who can remove the fetus using the proper tools with no harm done to the mother?
For recent years, people start to deny abortion and stated it as cruel and murder. While it does involve remove fetus or embryo from the mother and kill the baby before it was born, it might not be the worst thing that can happen to the baby. Most people who chose abortion is either can’t afford to have a kid or unable to take care of them. It was one of the case, while other concern about their right as a person. Some might say the baby have right to live, while others believe the mother have right for herself to do what she want to her body. The debate on abortion is not about who right, but it about the consequences of their action.
As a human being but mostly as a woman I stand for abortion. Margaret Sanger who was an American birth control activist ones said: “No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body.” I absolutely agree with her and believe that woman, as any other human on this earth is the Lord of her body and has full rights over it. Each woman is fully capable and has a full right to make soulful and moral decisions about her body on her own without interference. I think we all can agree that a fetus can not survive outside of the mother’s body, therefore, it is a part of her body so it's her full right to decide its fate. Many people argue that abortion is the sane as killing a human being. However, many scientists argue that on the first weeks of pregnancy the fetus doesn’t feel anything and even refer to it as a parasite to a body. Statistics show that 89 % of all abortions in the US are performed in the first trimester of pregnancy,
Abortion has been a very controversial issue in the United States for the past several decades. Many people think that is it morally wrong. To say that something is morally wrong is an opinion. Since everyone’s opinions are different on this topic there have been many court cases and protests against abortion. However there are a lot of people out there that believe that abortion is a rightful decision. My personal opinion on the abortion controversy is that every woman should have the choice on whether or not they are ready or are capable of raising a baby. Although there are many different choices one can make with regard to whether or not they are ready to raise a child, like adoption, it is still ultimately the woman’s decision on what they want to do. Carrying a child is a very stressful and sometimes painful process. There are a lot of financial decisions, health decisions, and future decisions that have to be carefully thought out before becoming a parent. Parenthood is a life-altering step one must take in life, and abortion is one way that a women can postpone or avoid changing their life in a very extreme way.
How would you feel if your life were to be taken away without a choice? It’s unfair and unjust to end the life of any innocent human being. Babies have no say in whether they get to choose a future for themselves. Every person deserves their right to live, and no one should have the ability to take that right away. Abortion is harmful and wrong because it is immoral to kill an innocent human being, carries out many risks that affect the mother’s health physically and mentally, and is selfish for many reasons.
Abortion is the ending of a human pregnancy. Most women choose to have an abortion because they think that they are not ready to be a mother. They think the best way to get rid of their baby is the best way to get rid of their unborn child, but there are always other choices. Just because something is legal, it doesn't make it right to do. Abortion should be illegal, because: it is the same as killing someone, it's better to give a baby up for adoption instead of taking his/her life, the baby is innocent and is not responsible for others actions, and due to the fact that most females regret having an abortion and require psychological help afterwards.
I’m against abortion because it’s killing human beings that deserve to have a life. The baby should not suffer from the lack of responsibility and bad decisions that the mother makes. There are many reasons why abortion is wrong. If it’s a late term abortion, it could be painful to the baby. It it can also be painful to the mother. Their are some health risks to the mother after going through with it as well as lifelong health risks. Some may not know that the procedure can
“There are nearly 1.2 million abortions performed in the United States each year” (Operation Rescue, 2014). That was 1.2 million innocent lives that were ended before they even had a chance to begin. Abortion has been legal for decades now, and it is time to put a stop to all the murdering of unborn children. This senseless killing of an unborn child needs to be recognized for what it truly is, and that is legalized murder. Abortions should be made illegal in the United States because it is taking the life of an innocent person, there are other options out there and lastly abortions are not only harming the unborn child but also cause harm to the mother.
Did you know that out of the 50 states, Texas is ranked number 4 in total abortions performed according to AGI Data (Texas). Abortion is defined as “removal of the embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy” (Dictionary.com). To end an innocent child’s life using rather horrific procedures is not only unethical for the doctor to execute, but morally wrong. There are lots of questions surrounding the topic of abortion and some of those include: Is a developing fetus a human being in its early stages? What effects does abortion have on people afterwards? Is killing a fetus considered murder? What about abortion in rape cases? Although the number of abortions is high, that number has definitely been going down every year.
Does life begin at the moment of conception? Or does life begin when the heart starts pumping and the brain starts to think. Some say that life does not begin until birth. The issue of abortion has been the subject of debate for several decades. Religions in Australia have influenced attitudes and laws with regards to this issue in the past. Are the attitudes and involvement of Australian religions in the abortion debate still relevant and do they make a difference?
Abortion is tremendously unethical, just like murder is highly immoral. Many religions oppose the idea of abortion; Christianity considers abortion to be a sin under all circumstances; Hinduism considers abortion to be a form of violence. In addition, when the woman decides to have a sexual intercourse with a man without any proper use of contraception, she knows that pregnancy will result. If the mother did not want the baby in the first place or if she could not take on the responsibility of the baby, then she should not get pregnant just to later on kill the unborn innocent child in her womb. Abortion can not only harm the baby, but can also cause physical and psychological damage
