Educational untruthfulness is a very bad affair at Ashford University institute. It is any performance which indecorously influences the assessment of a scholar’s educational accomplishment or attainment. A lot of scholars struggle at some point in their academic careers. During the past weeks at college in the course of my depression I have displayed educational wrongdoing. It contains, but is not narrow to, imitation, misappropriation, and misrepresentation. The institution of higher education does not accept imitation. It is a mixture of thieving and untruthfulness, and it exhibits disapproval for the whole educational operation. Never con on a test, parody yourself, copy files, or copy records. I learned when using thought from another individual or group, I must correctly quote them. This means to correctly recognize where I establish the report I am using in my document. Quoting sources displays which notions are minds and which are rented from others.

Plagiarism, by almost every light, is a serious problem deserving of time, attention and care. However, its prevention is a complex, difficult question, complicated by excessive sloth and lack of action from administrators. The article “A Question of Honor”, written by William Chace, a professor and concerned citizen, is effective at reaching its intended audience. Largely, the intended audience is students, professors, and administrators who are concerned with plagiarism and wish to stop it. Consequently the purpose of the article, the prevention of plagiarism, is addressed. The article was originally published in American Scholar in the Spring 2012 issue. It can be located in the Ethics in Higher Education, edited by Nancy Henke et al. Chace’s thesis suggests that plagiarism can be prevented by the culture associated with the university. The article was originally put in an academic journal, making its audience somewhat easier to determine. As well, the article uses appeals to scholarly professionals. The text spends a good portion of the prologue establishing the claim that there is a chronic problem of plagiarism present in this culture. In the body text of the article, Chace first of all presents counterarguments to the idea that cheating is an acceptable way to learn how to write, then spends the majority of the article describing how to prevent cheating. The problem of plagiarism can be seen in different areas. The most common is found in academics. Usually plagiarism is copying, stealing someone else ideas. A student who is found quilty of plagiarism can be suspended or expelled (Nall and Gherwash, 2012). When comp arrives the policies of Gorge Brown ands the definitions of plagiarism are virtually the same, but the presentation of rules concerning plagiarism are very different. While Gorge Brown is very concise, Seneca is more detailed, but lacks organization.

“Pshh, let me see number four,” is probably something we have all heard or seen someone do during a test. Did you know that 85 percent of adolescents participate in academic dishonesty before graduating high school? As I jotted down ideas, I came up with the concept of cheating because I see many people in my surrounds doing it. The categorical and numerical questions I came up with in my study are, “What subject would you cheat on, if you were in need for a good grade? If you were given 10 problems, how many problems would you cheat on?”

Academic dishonesty is the plagiarism of someone else’s work, cheating with unapproved materials, fabrication, or collaborating with other students on individual assignments. In other words, if you didn’t solve that problem, think those thoughts, collect that data, or write that paper from your own thoughts and brainpower, there had better be citations and references to give credit to the original individual who did. Earning a college education is built on the foundation of being academically honest so your degree and university are reputable. Without academic honesty, your education would be discounted when compared to others that earned a degree while maintaining their academic honesty and upholding the academic policies of their university.
Plagiarism can take many forms and may happen in varying degrees. It can occur when people don’t even attempt to write their own essay and copy someone else’s work in its entirety. It also could be partially their own with much copied from another source. This becomes plagiarism when the source isn’t identified and credited. It can even occur if the source is falsely identified or quotation marks are not included.
McCabe has said that an estimated seventy percent of college students have admitted to some type of cheating. He supports this claim by saying that the parties to blame here is the school system and the media. HBU defines academic dishonesty to when a student cheats or steals someone’s work and passes it as their own among these are a list of actions that count for academic dishonesty. Some examples being brought up about dishonesty is how in the NFL saw past the deflating incident in the Super Bowl were it seems like the media praised the player for his actions (Loschiavo). Therefor, students think it is correct to do be dishonest in their class work.
