Accomplishments Of Stephen King

In 1957, Lord Darnley was murdered and Queen Mary was forced to renounce her throne. He made her son King of Scotland. He became the official King of Scotland when he was one year old. James was a devout scholar who studied the English language. The kingdom was strong and centralized during his rule, and he eventually married Anne of Denmark. He was a devout Protestant, and fought against the Puritans who tried to get rid of Roman practices in the church. He was not liked much, because of favoritism, and his schemes to get an alliance with Spain. During his rule, William Ruthven, one of the leaders of the Church of Scotland, kidnapped James, and held him captive for almost a year. When James finally escaped, he did not take any more chances, and executed William. With Queen Elizabeth the First aging, James realized that he had the highest chance of becoming the King. The only problem was that his mother, Mary, was still in live. She was prosecuted, and then executed. Once Elizabeth died, we move onto the chapter of King James’ life.

They express moods or feelings that allow the reader to connect with the writing. In On Writing, the author, Stephen King makes use of literary elements to tell his story. The techniques King uses are effective in portraying vivid images and feelings in the reader’s mind.

Growing up Martin Luther King. Jr had a happy middle class life, but even with all of this he still noticed social problems. His father was a respected preacher, his mother was a college-educated musician, and his grandmother, who lived with them, was extremely fond of him. He was also close to his older sister and younger brother, who started college at fifteen.

Martin Luther King was a prominent man in the lives of African-Americans. He was the greatest American civil rights leader in 1950s and 1960s. The civil rights movement was a hope to secure equal rights for African Americans and allowed them the same privileges as other U.S citizens. He believed that nonviolence was the only way for people to accept civil rights. King’s way of persuading people was with marches and large gatherings. Therefore, for my legal biography project I was determined to do my project on MLK (Martin Luther King).

Stephen Edwin King was born in Portland, Maine on September 21, 1947. When King was two years old, his father left home and never returned. , leaving him to be raised by his mother. The family moved around to Wisconsin, Indiana, and Connecticut before returning to Maine so his mother could care for her parents.

"I have a dream..." Those are some of the most famous words in history from the 1960's. Martin Luther King Jr. was the guy that said those amazing words that would soon change America forever.. He said that speech on august 28, 1963 to a huge crowd at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. That speech was about civil rights for all people. In fact, he said it to a crowd that was in the Civil Rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man and this is his story.

It would a good way to honor Dr. King’s life by spreading his word to others, especially the to the generations to come. A way that we could spread these words is by making it a part of today's literature. Every English class across the country learn at least a little bit of shakespeare in their courses. This should be the same for Dr. King. It should become a part of english teachers requirement to show kids Dr. King and his accomplishments including his writings. This would inform a great population of today’s society helping show what a powerful change this man brought to us.

In a dark world, a time full of hate, hurt, and segregation, a man stood out against those injustices, Martin Luther King Jr.. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very strong activist in the civil rights movement. King was a pioneer of the “no violence” and “no harm” era of protesting. He became a leader for African Americans and whites who opposed the idea of segregation. These people wanted change, they stood together as brothers and as Americans, all led by the great qualities of Martin Luther King Jr.. On the road to civil rights, King had many quotes that had given people hope, trust, and faith and many are still used today.

Without a doubt, Martin Luther King Junior was and is an important figure of our time. Martin Luther spent his life as a non-violent fighter for African American rights. (McGill 1). King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout his childhood he had doubts about his religion, even though he came from a long line of pastors. Martin did well in school, he was an A average student, senior class president, and was given the “Most Outstanding Student” award. He attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he was also held the position of quarter back of the school’s football team. Then, in 1945 he enrolled in Atlanta’s Morehosue College at the age of only 15 years old because he skipped 11th and 12th grade. Then, in 1951 he attended Boston University until 1955. King’s dedication and hard work found him enormous success as a writer. After college, he took on many different laborious jobs before becoming an English teacher. While working as a teacher and taking care of his family, he simultaneously continued to write novels and short stories. King mentions throughout the novel that it is paramount to continue writing no matter what. To never stop mastering your craft. They say practice makes perfect, and that goes for writing as well. In fact, he commented on how his wife always encouraged him to continue writing no matter what the circumstances. She never doubted him. This is also an essential. With someone who believes in you day in and day out, it’s a real confidence booster, and it gives you a reason to keep writing.
