Some people question whether acctions are more damaging than words. Actions may kill people. Words may drive people to kill them selfs. It all depends on the people minds and thoughts. If a mentale unstable person was bullied she/he might take suicide into consideration that’s how words affect people. Actions may take people to unspeakable actions like colmbine’s school shooting. My opinion is that there is certain ways how words affect people more than actions and vice versa. When i was growing up my cousins would always pick on me and make me cry. My uncle was no help he would call me lots of stuff but he would call me gay in spanish. I would tell my dad about it but he did nothing about it. Shortley after a few years my grandpa from
Dr. Cullen presented quotes and pictures that have meaning. One of the first one she presented was “stick and stone may break my bones; words can scar a lifetime.” This quote is related to bullying and the act of verbally can take a life. Dr. Cullen also shows us the positive side of this quote like the act of verbally of kindness can save a life. People can walk outside by us every day and we don’t see their wounds. We don’t know what they are going through, so the act of kindness can help them and make them feel appreciated.
Hateful words and actions can greatly impact someone's life. I am a key witness to this unfortunate event. There isn't a plausible excuse to why people decide to throw hateful remarks at others and I never understood it. I do know that you cannot let other people bring you down with the words they say. Take the insults and use them to build yourself into someone they will regret ever saying one word to.
Being poor means you barely have enough money for the luxuries in life; you can only afford the absolute necessities in life. Being middle class means you can afford to splurge here and there on luxuries. Being wealthier means you live a life of opulence, and you are not concerned with money in the slightest. I do not live an extravagant live nor do I live a life devoid of luxuries. Most of my significant events in my life do not have money involved in them. Whenever I have money I carelessly splurge it on things I will never come to use or I treat myself to candy with it. I loathe saving money in such a manner it drives me insane whenever I save more than a couple dollars. I choose Katie Nolan for this section because she is the polar opposite
. “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me” is a saying that has been around many elementary schools, maybe some middle schools. That saying is 100% percent totally not true. As much as we pretend that words do not hurt us, well they actually do and sometimes cause a lot of damage to another person, maybe even permanent damage. Words can hurt you more than being physically hurt. If you say the right thing, you can make that person end up committing suicide or doing something else crazy like attempting to kill you or random people who didn’t deserve it. When people are bullied, it is mainly by words, when a fight breaks out at school, it was probably from words. The school shootings that have been happening lately,
Every time we go to the grocery store we are advertising tricks. For example, we can see some convincing words like all natural, a good source of vitamins, natural ingredients, healthy, organic, without antibiotics, hormones, cage-free, etc. These words are catchers of attention to consumers to believe they are getting something big, healthy and nutritious, but is it really that we get something good ourselves? What do all these words really mean?
It used to be that the sole purpose of the tax code was to raise the necessary funds to run government. But, in today's world, the tax mandate has many more facets. These include: income redistribution, encouraging favored industries, and discouraging unfavorable behavior. (para. 1)
I really think that when people have their days they tend to take things out on others. They say words that can actually hurt someone by saying that they hate them that’s a big pet peeve to me even though I use it sometimes.
Most people are quick to blame about Americans obesity on fat in the food. But the real problem is the sugar in food. Sugar is found in all sorts of food and drinks like soda and candy also treats. Just recently people have found that the fat in the food is not the real problem but the sugar. For the past 10 years the United States has been the leader of heart disease. The fat and the calories are bad but the real problem is all the sugar.
This is very true because, people say insulting and hurtful words not realising how they could affect the victim.
Sometimes, words will not justify in conflicts. In conflicts, words might not get people's point cross. Word are twigs, they will not do any good. If a person is explaining something and the other person is not listening, a slap might
“No matter how hard the situation is, always believe that something beautiful is going to happen. “ -Anonymous. Life has its own surprises in life. One day, you may be cherishing those major moments in life with your family and the next, you may never see them again. Similar to a tradition, it is the reason that you wake up early in the morning, it is the reason that you smile, and it is the reason that you inhale nature. What if you don’t get to advance through 2,000 years of your tradition? Wouldn’t you feel heartbroken and depressed? Life itself would be dreary without that significant event. The Makah were misunderstood for their tradition. Many believed that they were endangering whale species, but in reality they were supplementing themselves
Over the years there has been many people asking Christians and Christians asking one another if it is a wrong to judge others. With celebrities saying, "Only God can judge me", it has become a trend to avoid being judged for misbehaviors. I strongly stand that it isn't wrong to judge, but wrong when someone is judging hypocritically. In Lewis B. Smedes article "Who Are We to Judge", he explains why judging is needed and why it is permissible starting off with a question, "Did Jesus forbid us from judging others?"
Have you ever encountered someone that is just very difficult and maybe even sometimes outrageous? Well there is different people that suffer from all types of “difficult.” With these problematic people they do not realize how it can affect others within different areas. They can differ in the home, work place and in schools. There are different types of problematic people in our lives, those who can be hostile, neurotic, and rejection-sensitive.
Many people say that expressing themselves with bad words makes them feel better, but then again it could be true however does it make it right? How many of you have walked beside a family and you hear the children talking to their parents in such a disrespectful matter as if they weren’t the authority figure as if respect never existed. Possibly the parents might find it okay for their children to speak to them in such way but in other people’s eyes it’s not. Nowadays not only do children but adults find it okay for them to speak in a unpleasant matter.
The great Netflix pricing debacle. I remember it like it was yesterday. The minute I received that email stating that the prices were going up, I immediately canceled my subscription. It is amazing how far they have come since then. Eventually, I made my way back to Netflix. There have been times when I have contemplated canceling my subscription, but there is always a new documentary or original series that pops up. My one pet peeve is that they are constantly removing titles that my son just so happens to love. That leads to a very disgruntled four year old.
