Activity Description & Analysis:
Working at Sherwin-Williams I was assigned many different tasks that I worked on from learning the business side of running a store to doing daily store improvements. Some of the key things I worked on were the monthly budget, lead generation calls, building displays for sales, ordering trucks and helping with inventory. Each one of these tasks helped me with my learning objectives. When I was working on the monthly budget with my manager she was showing me the financial reports of what we are spending and receiving. She wanted to teach me how the finances of the store work. I had many of these meetings where I learned where I could give my input and how I thought we could improve our financial report over
The Loan Operations team is quite large, with both permanent and temporary employees, and each person handled a specific set of responsibilities. While I received exposure to a wide array of tasks, I had four principal areas of focus: the file room, payoff quotes, the collateral securities report and paid loans. Each of these responsibilities required some level of unique knowledge, but the more I learned about one, the more I saw connections and was able to apply lessons from one area to another.
While I was working at the Ecology center I was taught many usefully workforce and life skills. We only had a week to teach an entire merit badge or two depending on the class. Because of this, my director taught me how to manage my time wisely. After a couple of years I became the director, this was my first time in a position of power, and I had to learn how to schedule all of the classes for the center. I was also responsible for the payroll of everyone under me. At the time I didn’t relies how these task would help me later in life I just saw them as a nuisance. The most important thing I learned however was how to be a good leader and role
Each of these play an important role in my education, give me responsibility, and lifelong skills. Doing all of my school work and my dual credit college classes require quite a bit of studying. When I am not busy with school and homework, I work at Frank’s Food Mart just about every other weekend. This can be sometimes hard to do because of the problem of having a lot of homework. Work is a great place that I get to help customers out with carrying their groceries out. Also, I learn many skills and responsibilities. Some of the skills that I learn, are stocking shelves, counting money and communication skills. I like to work with many people. Working at Frank’s Food Mart has been great with all of the community people and my co-workers. Some of the responsibilities that not only come with school but also with work is to make sure that I get everything done that is asked of me and more. Also, making sure that I show up to school and
In this STEM Activity I learned that by combining all of the ideas instead of using just one will make a better structure. Because, I may have had a great idea to keep it stable, but the shape of the structure that I had would never hold. So, by combining all our ideas we got a better structure. Even if it did not hold it was better than if we just used my idea.
The July I spent working for my grandpa in his shop last summer, has a had a much larger effect on me than I had anticipated. It taught me responsibility, independence, and strengthened my work ethic considerably. I was an assistant at Everett Vacuum, which meant cleaning, organizing, and restocking shelves. It was a great experience for me, and I believe it was a big help to my grandpa.
This includes cleaning, stocking brochures, filing reports, and making sure that we open on time. I’ve also been helping with large groups that enter the park via group sales. Groups have a different way of entering the park and paying so I’ve been watching and learning that process over the past week. Also, I count unlimited food and drink armbands in order to make sure that each group has enough of what they ordered and get that completed before they arrive. My boss also showed me how to count out cash registers for final close and all of the reports you have to run in order to send a bag to audit. I’m sure that next week she’ll let me practice by counting out other bags and I’m looking forward to learning another
The most rewarding part of the job is when I get to spend in-depth time with customers. For example, one afternoon I was working on the floor, weaving my way through the brightly colored pens and folders when I reached a family who looked lost.
To understand how accounts are maintained in the company and to learn about management practices.
Well, that's me, and I am been doing these tasks since I was 14 years old. When I was in 8th grade, I was offered a paid internship to Ruckus Entrepreneurs, a nonprofit enterprise. There I learned how to make, market, and sell a line of bath and body products using herbs we grew ourselves. At $10 an hour for 15 hours a week, that was not bad for an eighth grader. I was learning hands-on economics as well as working with a team to overcome obstacles like maximizing our margins. That helped me develop communication and leadership skills which are important to have in any work setting. The best part was that at the same time, I was learning how to make all kinds products like soap! How cool is that?
By the title of the convo, I thought we were gonna talk about our financial life and how to keep track of the money we have. And I wasn’t wrong. We started the convo by talking about how important it is to monitor our finances and be thoughtful on how we spend our money. In order to create a successful budget we have to 1 - determine the financial situation, 2 - establish goals, 3 - create tactical strategies, 4 - communicate and adjust.
I did not want to mess up and had a lot to learn. The warehouse was laid out so all the horse feed was in one corner, and the chicken feed in another. Before I learned exactly where all the feed I frequently asked my co-workers for help to find the feed. This felt a little awkward at first I would have rather wonder the warehouse aimlessly before I got comfortable around my co-worker. Soon once I was aware where everything was they taught me how to maneuver a forklift. It took a little while to learn which feed was what and where they were in the warehouse. I started learning how to drive the forklift. Figuring out how to pick up the pallets on shelves and not hit anything in the process. This was a task I saw as something I really needed to master quickly if I was going to keep this job. Propane was other skill I needed to learn for the job I have. I had to make sure the propane tank is up to date and the propane is pumping into the tank properly. The first time till haunts me as I didn’t screw the hose in all the way and propane shot
I’m your student who from PROV 501-P09. I have been seen you give me a score on the activity reflection 1, and I read your feedback to my assignment. The score is showed zero. I’m very care about my grade. Based on your feedback, I want to rewrite it and I will resubmit it after I go to writing center. However, the appointment of the writing center is limited, I can only make an appointment for next Wednesday, so could I update my reflection 1 after Wednesday? Thank you for your time.
After examining activity tracking devices, the benefits of tracking technology and strategies for the use of tracking devices in physical education, it appears the use of this technology in class will increase student engagement and the likelihood that students will use the fitness tracking technology in the future. The in-class step tracking and at-home food and activity analysis strategies will provide information to me and the students during the study. This chapter will include a description of the participants and the setting chosen for the study. It will detail qualitative, quantitative and inquiry data methods of data collection. The data collection tools for observations, student and school generated artifacts and pre and post study
While working for WICN I had the opportunity to work on tasks that I have never been presented with before. Some of the things I found myself working with weekly and even daily, sometimes
As stated these were just a few of the most memorable tasks I undertook while working at MassMutual. However, there were numerous tasks given on a daily basis and several opportunities to stimulate my knowledge in my career field. Some of these tasked included daily meetings. These meetings were ranging in purpose, and length, but all had a certain level of importance. On Mondays, I attended meetings intended to refine new agents’ knowledge on ways present solutions to potential client’s problems. One of the teaching techniques used by our managing staff was to assign a scenario that would that has been a past client issue from one of the senior members in our office and have the new agents formulate a solution with graphs and figures that prove to meet or exceed needs of the scenario. Personally, I found these exercises very productive and informative because it allow me to use the important resources provided the home office to ultimately help practicing agents solves these questions faster and more efficient. Another meeting formulated into our weekly schedules was Tuesday meeting where we got to hear from agents who are well versed in particular fields of work for example Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, and the many subsidiaries of the financial planning industry. These meetings were intended to indulge and strengthen our knowledge on those products, so we as new agents are fully aware of the different opportunities in the industry so we can match those financial
