Why it is PTSD? Harry directly experienced traumatic events. He was a victim of combat, torture and attempted murders. Harry witnessed how traumatic events occurred to others. For example, he saw deaths of his parents, godfather and several close friends. Harry learned that traumatic events occurred to others. Such as he learned that his parents were betrayed by a close friend, which they trusted. Harry has recurrent memories of traumatic event. He is distressed about the people he lost and often thinks about them. He has recurrent dreams about stressful events. He has visions about Voldemort killing his parents and nightmares about Cedric murder. Harry tries to avoid distressing thoughts by focusing on positive events and producing Patronus charm. He hardly falls asleep and often has nightmares. This distress lasts almost all his life. This distress makes it harder for Harry to make friendship and romantic relationship with other. It destructs him from classes and provokes the physical pain (ex. Pain in the scar). Harry is not addicted to any substance, it is not Acute Stress Disorder or Adjustment Disorder, because it lasts for a long time and it is not Major Depressive Disorder, because Harry doesn’t feel hopeless and rarely has depression thoughts. Why it is Schizophrenia? Harry has hallucinations. He sees traumatic events, nobody can see and which are not often real. For example, he saw Sirius being tortured, while his godfather was in reality in the safe place. Sometimes, Harry has delusions. For example, once he thought that he was a snake. Sometimes, he has disorganized speech. His speech becomes word salad, his voice changes and he has anger outbursts. Harry struggles at school and has difficulty in building trustful relationships with others. Harry has such symptoms for a long time, about since his fourth year at Hogwarts, and it provokes
