According to Ferrell and Hirt (1996), the small business ownership advantages are having an independence, it only requires small capital to start and maintain the business, it adopts easily to changing market demands, it can only focus to its customers and it has a reputation for its service and quality. High stress level for its owner is the disadvantage of small business ownership.
According to Reece and O’ Grady (1987), average person uses a small business to refer to an owner-managed business that only employs people not more than twenty or twenty five. The major reason for going into business for one’s self is the desire to be one’s own boss. Working capital, the money necessary to find he business regular operations. Developing the right skill and to make an contribution to an organization means being entrepreneurial. In a small business the owner know who are the person he/she are dealing with that he/she can put a face to the customer he’s/she’s in contact with. Small business can make quick decision on what is required. Small business owners do not need to seek an advice to others and approval. Small business operates in a small space with low lighting and heating.
