There are people that go and eat fast food 5 out of 7 days a week because they either can’t afford to eat at home, don’t have time to eat at home, or are just too lazy to make dinner from healthier choices. These fast foods are cheaper and faster to make than traditional foods you can get from the grocery store, yet their fat and sodium and sugar content is extremely high compared to those traditional foods. To the busy college student or even the family of 4, finding time to eat a healthy meal fells like it can be impossible. Some might argue everyone can find time to eat a healthy meal, but as a full time college student with a family of 4 with another kid on the way. Even the little time I do have at home doesn’t change that I have not had a chance to get to the store for two weeks to buy food. Given the little time and lack of food, the options can be slim, but fast food addictions can cause you to make bad choices too. In the beginning of the video, he says that only 10 percent of how long people live is dictated by our genes and the other 90 is dictated by our lifestyle. With that said, he states that we are not programmed to live a long life, but have a procreative success. According to Dan Buettner, some of the things that can help people live longer are move naturally, right outlook, eat wisely, and connect. I think Dan Buettner content of the speech is accurate and makes me feel more convinced on how to live a longer.
