Adversity In The Dark Knight

There is a story going around, that a mom can lift a car up when their child is stuck underneath it, and in danger. When a person is hit with adversity, they are able to bring out certain characteristics that they did not know were possible, or that they had. This is because being in a situation where you are faced with a problem, people tend to find their true talents. When I was younger, I had trouble learning how to speak. I found this hard as I was growing up because I saw that many people were able to have full conversations, while I was only able to stand there in awkward silence. The 4th grade was the grade in which I struggle the most. Meeting new people, and being able to talk to them, was hard and embarrassing. In the same year, I was told that I was going to meet the mayor of the city. This was a great accomplishment, but what was I going to say to him? On that night, I do not know how, but I was able to use all the English I had, and was able to blurt out the most complete sentence I had ever used. This felt great! From …show more content…

Super heroes, are also faced with problems. They want to get rid of “bad” in the world, without making themselves use “bad” to do this. In the movie The Dark Knight, Batman faces his most notorious enemy, the Joker. In this movie, Joker wants Batman to break his “own rule” which is to not hurt people. If the Joker is able to do this, then people will look at Batman as a villain, and no longer a superhero. Before the Joker was able to carry out his plan, Batman found out his plan, and was then faced with the hardship of how could he defeat the Joker and his plan? Finally, he did something that he didn’t think as possible, he was able to hurt the Joker, but not physically. Instead, Batman chose to hurt the Joker in a way the Joker would never think of.
