Ron Chernow’s enthralling biography titled Alexander Hamilton is both an informative, and an extensive overview of the life of Alexander Hamilton. The book is also well-known as the inspiration behind Lin-Manuel’s broadway musical Hamilton: An American Musical. Chernow’s biography includes plenty of interesting information and documents that had previously not been touched on in other biographies. Personally, I would definitely recommend Alexander Hamilton to anyone; not just those of who wish to know more about history, but to anyone who is looking for a fascinating book to sit down with. Although Hamilton’s life was very much based on politics, Chernow often dips into his personal life with letters to friends and family, as well as Hamilton’s
Alexander Hamilton was one of the seven key Founding Fathers of the United States of America. While he played an important part in American history he was perhaps the most dissimilar of all the Founding Fathers. He was in fact, a poor, orphaned young immigrant. This is what makes his ascension within the American political system so exceptional. His unlikely success, was most likely the result of hard work, dedication, and a natural passion and zeal for learning.
The story of Alexander Hamilton written by Ron Chernow. I picked up this book a few years ago after I found out there was a Broadway show being created around it. I instantly wondered how they were going to create a Broadway musical around the story of a historical American figure. I found the book difficult to put down. Hamilton’s life was never easy, he was born as an illegitimate child, at ten years of age, his father abandoned him and his mother. Only a short two years later his mother passed away while holding an ill Hamilton. He was adopted by a cousin, who committed suicide shortly after taking him in also during that time his aunt, uncle, and grandmother also passed. By the time he was a young teenager, he and his brother were orphaned, alone and destitute. Hamilton took it upon himself to work hard, and write his way out of the Caribbean and immigrate to America. He accomplished many incredible feats during his short 47 years of life.
When it comes to Alexander Hamilton’s early life, it is no surprise that he spoke very little of his upbringings. Hamilton himself said, “My birth is the subject of the most humiliating criticism”. This comment is in part due to the fact that his mother, Rachel, was considered a prostitute for leaving her husband and becoming pregnant with an illegitimate child- Alexander. This seemed to have doomed Hamilton from the start. When he was
Unlike many of the other thriving politicians in Alexander Hamilton's undoubtedly notable era, Hamilton had a knack for fighting against the popular public opinion to show perspective and produce new ideals for America. Hamilton has shown this countless times, one example being that he
Alexander Hamilton, recognized as one of the Founding Fathers of our country, had a great impact on the wars and political issues of his time. He presented himself as a well respected man and proved himself worthy of the tasks he was given. He impressed many people and played a substantial part in influencing where America stands today. Although his early childhood circumstances were difficult, putting him at a disadvantage, Alexander proved himself capable of achieving success all on his own, without the need of others’ assistance or provision. His efforts ultimately played a significant role in the founding of America.
In conclusion, Hamilton is a great influence on people today. Although he had a difficult childhood, he was able to push through and achieve many goals. Alexander played a big part in the government system we have today and impacted a lot of people. While he is not a very well known Founding Father, I think everyone should learn more about him. He was an ingenious man who fought for his country with great pride and influenced many people, helping to create the world we live in

Alexander Hamilton, a son, a student, a writer, a hero. To sum up all of Hamilton’s mammoth triumphs would be quite the task, but that is exactly what Ron Chernow does in his biography entitled, “Alexander Hamilton.” Published by The Penguin Press, “Alexander Hamilton,” is an incredible biography that goes through the life of Alexander Hamilton in chronological order. Have you ever heard the phrase, “Nobody’s perfect”? Well, it’s true. Nobody is perfect, especially not Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton was a Founding Father of the United States and America’s first Secretary of Treasury. He was a great political leader and he was incredibly intelligent.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton gave viewers a musical that portrays its protagonist as an idealistic American hero. Throughout the musical, Alexander Hamilton fights against the British, defends the U.S. Constitution, and works for a better America. Even though he did do all these things, the musical does not include some of the downfalls of Hamilton’s philosophy. In reality, he also believed in a monarchial system of government, disliked the lower class, and was not the abolitionist as shown in many of the songs. Although the musical Hamilton displays Alexander Hamilton as a hardworking immigrant fighting for the independence of a nation, it does not show his more controversial ideology, making it an inaccurate historical representation of an influential founding father. Showing only one side of an argument is a problem in society today when sources of news and facts can be hard to trust for reliable information.
Everyone among the revolutionary generation had created their own legacies in fascinating ways, yet Alexander Hamilton drew eyes with his lively and impulsive style. He had an incredible amount of accomplishments from writing fifty-one essays for The Federalist Papers to cheating on his wife and publishing a paper about it to prove he wasn’t stealing money from the government, but instead paying off his mistress’s husband. What a man.

Hamilton The story of Alexander Hamilton begins with Aaron Burr asking how a poor orphan from the Caribbean can rise up to be a scholar and a prominent figure in American history.
