I am asking for the opportunity to utilize what I have learned thus far on the Memphis Police Department, at the Training Academy. I have a been a Memphis Police Officer now for eleven years. I started my career at the Airways Station on the Alpha Shift. I had the opportunity to do a three-month temporary assignment in Felony Response where I learned how to conduct investigations from the scene to state reports. Once that appointment concluded I returned to the Alpha shift with insight on what occurs after the traffic stop and how to be more thorough with my reporting. I was asked by my Major at the time to pursue a Field Training Officer position to help increase the quality personnel for the shift. The first time I was turned down because
For consideration as a Lieutenant within the Intelligence & Analysis Crime Unit, Regional Operations & Intelligence Center. my experience of supervision, dealing with outside vendors and ability to manage complex data systems would make me a good fit for the Intelligence & Analysis Crime Unit. Used by the NJSP and various outside agencies, the Voicebox system is a primary tool of police wiretapping operations. Furthermore, I have managed the entire MAPPS System software, this includes negotiating with outside vendors and writing of waivers each valued at a quarter of a million dollars or more. Having been an assistant unit head since 2011, and in charge of two enlisted and five civilian personnel, my experience in managing personnel is established. My current assignment in the MAPPS/SPU Unit has required a wealth of different skill sets including, editing and writing SOPs, completing MAPPS Supervisory Training Lesson plans, and instructing hundreds of new supervisors.
For the past 2 years I have been part of the San Francisco Police Activities League as a Cadet. As a Cadet I’ve had many opportunities that I never thought I would have. We, Cadets, help the San Francisco Police Department with any assistance they need in big Bay Area events or fundraising. I’ve gotten the chance to also meet the Chief of Police, Greg Suhr, and now Retired Deputy Chief, Lyn Tomioka. Never in my life did I think I would have the wonderful and honorable opportunity to meet 2 excellent people and many more amazing Officers. In the 2 years, I was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Chief Suhr for the work I’ve done as a PAL Cadet.

An examination of the patrol officer’s jobs and duties took place. The gathering of information and interviewing a seasoned patrol offer assisted in this examination. The city in which the patrol officer works is also studied. Research of the city of Hueytown’s population and history helped to understand the demographics and crime within the city. While Hueytown’s violent crimes are low, thefts and burglaries rank the highest. Communities, including the city of Hueytown, place patrol officers on the streets in order to protect and serve. In light of my, Erin McLendon, recent promotion to Head Lifeguard for the recreation center; I require additional training to fulfill my new position’s requirements. Within the range of Head Lifeguarding, taking the course Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation will expand upon and secure knowledge needed to protect the patrons of the aquatic center. Below will contain in detail why the course is a necessity to the position.
First, there is lack of information and knowledge on the right police training philosophy, learning approach and training program objectives (CALEA, 2010). This lack of knowledge has immense negative effects on police training, especially because it affects not only senior commanders of police departments but also management, police trainers and other staffs. The other ingredient to police training that lacks is community understanding and support for police training programs (Mitrani, 2014). It is found out that the communities that are served by officers do little to support or appreciate post-academy training programs, which have numerous benefits to communities (CALEA, 2010). For instance, post-academy and field training for newly posted officers helps in the utilization of individual and department creativity, stakeholder collaboration, and effective problem-solving skills and techniques that would improve communal safety and
All my life I have been fascinated with police work and firefighting. As a result, I have spent a vast amount of time volunteering at local fire departments working closely with local law enforcement personnel in emergency situations. Although I have wavered for years about whether to pursue a career in law enforcement or firefighting, I have always known that one way or the other I am going to be involved in emergency services. While local police enforcement is interesting, I have always wondered what it would be like to be a State Police Trooper. With that in mind, I secured an interview with Delaware State Police Trooper, Master Corporal (CPL/3) Douglas Brietzke.

Flashes of World War II propaganda cartoons from Germany, Japan and the United States demonstrate how they were by picturing the other species as rats and snakes. Based on these cartoons and images, which have some same points such as visual metaphor and hostile cliches to characterize and dehumanize their enemies, Dr. Keen believes that they are drawn from the artists being at the same schools.

The creation of a new life is a complicated process where many sperm cells travel a long road just so they can sacrifice themselves for that one lucky sperm cell.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a police officer. I’m sure, as a little boy, what first caught my attention were the flashing lights and sirens on the police cars. It could have also been then the facts that police officer were permitted to carry a gun and had the ability to run red lights. This is why as I grew up and played games like cops and robbers, I was always the police officer. During my teenage years, I later joined the police explorer program and really started to learn about police work. That’s when I
