“Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, it is a progressive brain disorder which gradually destroys the memory and reasoning skills, and eventually the ability to perform the simplest tasks” (Alz.org). The initial symptoms of Alzheimer’s materialize when a person is in their mid-60s. In this document, I will discuss what Alzheimer’s is and how the character Allie, in the movie “The Notebook” demonstrated Alzheimer’s disease and the accuracy of the disease. The most common cause of dementia among mature adults is Alzheimer’s disease. “On a cognitive level, the principal hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease is memory decline, i.e. an impaired ability to acquire and remember new episodic information (El Haz,2016). There are different ranges in severity of dementia which, range from severe to mild. In the movie called “The Notebook” the story is regarding a gentleman named Noah who falls in love with a girl named Allison additionally known as Allie. Noah was a local worker who meets Allie while at a carnival; consequently, promptly they fall in love with one another. Unfortunately, Allie’s parents do not are fond of Noah because he is from a different social classification. Allie moves away to New York, however, following World War II they coincidentally meet and fall in love again. In Allie’s senior years she is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and she begins to lose her memory progressively. Therefore, Noah reads to her their love story, in hopes, that someday she will remember who he is. Each day he reads to her;
